Apologies in advance for posting this on this thread, I'm exploring ways to find solutions pls Hi everyone, My parents' B1/B2 visa application was denied in August 2024 when the U.S. was still using the CGI portal. After their account migrated to the new AVITS portal, I've been unable to submit a new application for them to apply for B1/B2 for my upcoming graduation. Their portal currently shows a "pending appointment request" status, but clicking on this only results in an endless loading screen across multiple browsers. Please note that - No MRV fee has been paid after their last application. Has anyone encountered this problem and how can I fix this? I have raised multiple tickets on the AVITS portal and received no solution yet. Thank you |

Please I need your advice guys. My husband started his Phd in the US last year and I tried to join him over there through F2 visa in November but was not approved at the embassy. Can I switch to F1 and apply to schools? How will the consular officer sense that changing from F2 to F1? |

I have done interviews with three universities for PhD program in Business Administration . It takes how many weeks or months before I get feedbacks from them ? |

Faahezarh:That depends on how beautiful you are. Most people were given at first attempt depending on how good looking. If you take care of your looks before ur next appointment, then it’s a given |

Since you already applied for an F2 visa and they are aware that your husband is in the U.S. on an F1 visa, applying for an F1 visa may be perceived as a potential intent to overstay. However, you can still consider reapplying for an F2 visa and ensure you prepare thoroughly for the interview by addressing the previous refusal reasons and strengthening your application with stronger ties to your home country. If you still prefer to apply for an F1 visa, you’ll need to clearly demonstrate strong reasons for returning home after your studies, such as career prospects, family ties, or assets in your home country. However, given the perception risk, an F2 visa with better preparation could increase your chances. All the best Faahezarh: |

I want to assume your passport will expire in 2025; if so, you should get a new passport. Wealth1990: |

Hello Everyone.. I paid the MRV on the ATVIS site via First bank EFT and confirmed the payment reference number. But I dont see any changes on the page. Still showing Pending appointment Request that leads to Bank Deposit Details. For those that passed this stage, how many days do I have to wait here before I get concerned to send mail to the ATVIS Support? |

Billionbaby23:Please what do you think is the proper way to do this? 1. Pick a date from the current ones available and use the emergency option when program start date or travel date is around 60 days 2. Keep being on the look out for dates, perhaps there might come a day that they would release dates closer to now and not the February 2026 that we have currently for Lagos. |

At least that’s what I did yesterday. Waiting for closer dates might be a problem o |

Hello and good evening guys, please I need some guidance on how to pay for the SEVIS fee. I walked into a bank to pay via Western Union as indicated in my print-out but I was told Western Union payment no longer works in Nigeria. How did you guys go about paying for your SEVIS fees? Responses would be appreciate Thanks |

Also my School session starts September 2025 and I put Lagos as Visa Locatiion in both my DS-160 and also on AVITS. Now time to book for interview and I see February 2026 as available appointment date. s I am guessing a lot students resuming September in Lagos are also experiencing the same thing. What do I do about this? I hear visa dates will cme out later but is that not risky to end up worsening the February 2026 to later in 2026 Thank you all. |

Jayjayyy:You can use the Pay4Me App to pay for your SEVIS Fee. You would pay them in naira, the $350 plus a service charge. The rate of conversion is usually displayed. They would ask for your SEVIS payment coupon to be uploaded. |
