Akpakomiza2:
She was assigned a new seat and was explained to by the chief whip yet she refused to comply. She now wanted to speak and the SP said she can only be permitted to speak from her new seat and she now raised drama. Why not obey the simple house rules? Why not comply with the seating arrangement first before protesting? Besides no senator can speak except sp recognizes you
The Chief Whip, Mr. Munguno assigned her to a new seat to cover up for the void that was created by the Senators who decamped to APC. Standing on Order 24 as his authority to arrange the business of the house and Order 6, that authorizes Akpabio as the SP to give new seats to Senators, the Chief Whip wanted Senator Natasha to move to the newly allocated seat. Munguno, a Senator, is an APC man, who have more seats in the house and Natasha is in the opposition. We did not hear the words exchanged between them initially. Did Munguno speak lightly or roughly with her? Since there was a change, did Munguno not have enough time before seating commenced to inform her of the change? That Senate chamber is a battle ground and everyone of them knows what everyone knows.

Read the below:
Order 6:
Seat of Senators.
(1) The President of the Senate shall allocate a seat to each Senator.
(2) A Senator may only speak from the seat allocated to him, provided that the President of the Senate may change the allocation from time to time.

Order 10:
Privilege.
“Any Senator may rise at any time to speak upon a matter of privilege suddenly arising, and he shall be prepared to move, without Notice, a motion declaring that a contempt or breach of privilege has been committed, or referring the matter to the Committee on Ethics and Privileges, but if the matter is raised in Committee of the Whole Senate…”

They made those rules and Natasha citing order 10, rose to speak. They are equals in the Senate and she must be treated with respect, irrespective of political affiliation.

Last year in July or so, he walked her out of the Senate, telling her that they were not in a nightclub. That was very demeaning and Nigerians did not take it lightly with him. He appears to have special interest in her and tries to silence the young woman. She felt that her rights were getting violated all the time by Akpabio. Senator Natasha felt frustrated and accused Akpabio of deliberately silencing her voice and also denying her the opportunity to contribute to motions. She accused Akpabio of dehumanizing, maligning and discriminating against her.

Again Akpabio had issues with Ireti Kingibe, who equally accused him of silencing her and he was accused of being against women.

There should not have been issues in the first place, if all was well between the Senators.

When the Sergeant at arms tried to approach her, did you not see how maturedly Senator Akobundu and co acted to prevent a further escalation? They first stopped her Mike and got her to calm down.

Akpabio is the worst of all the Senate Presidents that we have had over the years. His arrogance stinks. His inability to handle sensitive matters is a complete disgrace.

In all, thankfully peace was restored and certainly Senator Natasha should resume in her new seat today.

Lol but what is your issues? What is wrong with you? Must you always behave funny? Someone is correcting you and telling you what happened and you are talking trash. You always do this, I wonder why. Better calm down and learn. Saraki did worse yet you did not say he's the worst but because you hate Akpabio, you easily attack him.

This is is a very simple matter yet you are talking out of point. They are not equals, by virtue of Akpabio being her leader, he is superior to her. She cannot speak until Akpabio permits her. She disobeyed and disregarded the laws of the senate, she has no respect. What happened before them is immaterial. Besides, the senate is not a night club and you can't dress anyhow. There are dress codes and she must abide by it. She is wrong in all totality. If you cannot acknowledge that, better keep silent

Go and sit down Akpakomiza. Stop been silly, insultive and blinded by your crude support of APC. Your response is absolutely unintelligent please. You are the one who needs to correct himself here.

Where’s the hatred for Akpabio coming from? If your leader performs badly, how does demanding for proper conduct translate to hatred?

You must learn to look at issues from the two ends. APC membership should not take away the ability to reason rationally.

Even though the position of the Senate President is unique, his so called superiority is mostly procedural and administrative and not in the absolute terms. His duty is to ensure efficient legislative processes, preside over plenaries and maintain order. In terms of legislative responsibilities and powers, they are equal. If you like you can go and sit in the courts and tribunals, as you always claim to find out.

All Senators are equal, irrespective of their positions, they have equal voting rights and powers to propose bills, participate in debates and perform other legislative functions.

“What happened before them is immaterial”. No wonder the country is in this horrible state. If it was immaterial, why then did it become such a big issue? If it was immaterial, why then did Senator Karimu claim that he was slighted in the process by Senator Natasha. If it was immaterial, why then did Akpabio ask that the matter rather than get referred to the ethics committee, should be left for another day.

If you are not sure of the facts of the matter, all you need to do is to check and ask for the exact details, otherwise you must shut your own mouth.

Oga,sharap and stop talking rubbish. Thank goodness you said one of his duties is to maintain order. Was Natasha following order or being orderly? Was Akpabio not maintaining order by reassigning seats and telling her to follow order? Akpabio acted according to the law and senate rules. You are the one that does not know the facts of the matter. Your understanding of issues is very poor. When I said "what happened between them before is immaterial" I meant the clash they had in the past which you quoted not what happened yesterday before the escalation. the complaints from Senator Karimi is another evidence of her lawlessness. Did saraki not suspend senators for lesser offense?
Are you aware that the senate rules allows the leadership to reassigned seats? Are you aware that the seats of others where reassigned and they made no fuss? Are you aware that until the senate president recognizes you to speak, you cannot do so? So you think she can sit anywhere she likes at any point like her parlour? You think the senate is a lawless place where rules are not obeyed and people behave anyhow? You think anyone can stand up and speak at any point in the senate? This guy, you are funny...

All senators are equal but the senate president is first among equals by virtue of the constitution and rulebook.she has to submit to his authority sir whether by procedure as you claim. In any organization, there is a leadership and they are rules and members must abide by it... In your work place, do you talk anyhow? Don't you have rules? Even the constitution states this clearly. You and madam Natasha are lawless and wrong. Better go and read the senate rulebook before responding

Godswill Akpabio never contested in the APC senatorial primaries, yet he sits as Senate President—courtesy of Supreme Court rulings.

Now, he's using his position to silence duly elected women in the Senate.

Clearly you are a blind APC follower. You have just proven that to me. So now you have agreed that all Senators are equal?

Your words here are so contradictory and have shown that you do not take your time to read. You asked me to read the Senate rule book? I quoted order 6 and 10 from it before now to you. Without an understanding of it, Mr. Armchair lawyer, you drew your conclusion. Have you taken your time to read it? Maybe you are too focused on how Okpebolo will defeat Ighodalo at the tribunal, denying yourself the opportunity of knowing what’s going on around the federation.

Everyone, including Akpabio and Natasha know that you do not speak until you are recognized. Akpabio hypocritically asked Munguno to repeat order 6 to him as if he did not know it. If there was no issue, Akpabio simply would have asked her to go to her seat for recognition. That would solve the matter. Watch the video dispassionately.

Did you not notice the mockery on the part of Akpabio when he asked which faction of PDP the decampees belonged to?

Another thread opened showing the same Akpabio, in the same setting, with Saraki as the President. You can do well to help yourself to look at the video. See how Saraki handled it and sorted out the matter.

Your senate is not supposed to be a lawless place, yet your senators are lawless right inside their chamber, sometimes physically fighting themselves right inside the chamber? You no get head to think? Your head na fowl head?

If the clash that they had before was immaterial to you, has common sense not told you that the immaterial matter still lingers in their hearts? Did you not hear Akpabio asking Senator Karimu to leave the matter for another time? Has that not told you that the matter will come up in the future in one way or the other?

As an Akparutu lawyer that you are, have you not noticed that it’s all politics and power?

You are going in circles and absolutely talking trash. You even childishly talked trash. Natasha your madam was absolutely wrong boy and deserved what she got and any future punishment the debate will dish out.
Natasha spoke without being recognized to do so, even refused to go to her allocated seat which are both against senate rules and instead of you acknowledging that you are here blabbing. It seems you are someone who finds it difficult to accept his faults. So pathetic...

This is a very simple issue yet you are complicating it. You are even talking out of point and endlessly in a ladylike manner.. Natasha was at fault. Shikena

We need more werey Senators and Reps like Natasha to stand up to the criminal politicians in Nigeria.

Even if Natasha is wrong, I will still support her courageous resistance even though she is a minority of 1 and I will always support the underdog against the leeches parading themselves as politicians in Nigeria.
