Law still rocks!
It's definitely got to be Banking. It was the gold of all professions some 10-15 years ago.
Lawyers are paid 50k bro. Some even 30k.

It takes years for them to level up. Forget the suit and wig.

That's a lie entry level bankers earns above 300k, I don't know for contract staffs
300k is not money in today Nigeria. You can barely drive a good car and nice apartments with that money.

The question was about 'respect' not pay.
I am not a Lawyer, but tagging law a useless degree is shocking. BTW, all top law firms pay comparatively high salary with banks as per levels - ETs and Associates alike.
how many top law firms exist that can hire many of the estimated 4k law graduates yearly. 😩

Teaching, so stressful and emotionally draining, I had to quit mine as a private school teacher 3 years ago to venture into tech, that year I created my first online business which is vtu website, last year I bought my first car and currently building my first house. Tech is the future, though it may seem hard in the beginning but if you didn't give up, you will smile later.
The same teaching you demonised brought me my wealth and fortune. Shey u just dey buy your first car. When 21st century teachers are earning millions every month from teaching international exams online and earning good paycheck from Cambridge schools across Nigeria. No job is worthless. All you need are the required skills and staying informed. Some teachers are earning more than your so called tech.guys .Dont play

Bank contracts staff are being paid 80-120k while some pay entry level full time staff over 300k
You go sabi fail exam with dignity. Topic said respect, not monetary value.

When you tell people years back you work in a bank, they'll give you your space, tell anyone now, they'll just see you as normal employed person.

Lawyers sef lost respect, na bunch of official liars and money making criminals now.

You say keke work is lucrative, lol. You will always see food to chop from it, but no savings to invest. This is what we call "living from hand to mouth"

Keke itself is a depreciating vehicle. You will spend loads of money for repairs. Money wey you suppose save. Okay, lets say you brought a brand new keke, it will still give you headache, because the mechanics handling it, will destroy it for you, together with buying fake and inefficient spare parts!

What about tax, levies, tickets!

There is this average man who drives keke and stays in my area. He use to combine keke with extra lessons because he also knows how to tutor kids in maths, English and general knowledge. He does this inside a bet naija shop when he is not on the road.
Emyogalanya:
Railway work
Police work
Post Master genera
Security work
And I dare say being a graduate has lost that esteem too. Even though it's not a job

On the flip side being a driver used to be associated with failure but not anymore an average Keke driver lives very comfortable.
I fainted when a vulcanizer bought Keke and gave it to a graduate on higher purchase

Teachers were very respected before independence in Nigeria! They were also paid well, together with having expensive bicycles and cars then. Some of these teachers then had house-boys and maids in their homes!
Tommydare:
Teaching ke? There was no time Teacherswere respected before nw. Students, parents, their elder siblings, government all dey always disrespect Teachers.

Let's have the job you think was highly respected in the past but has lost his dignity or respect in recent time.

Perhaps if one knows it, one can avoid studying them or learning them.
Omo the one I know is photographer and this video recording of a thing,my friend learnt this work back in 2005 and he was doing well with it but as the world evolves the introduction of camera phones with large storage started affecting this business and my friend refuse to upgrade or learn another work, things has gone from bad to worse for my friend that he just started learning Aluminium last year

Not like before ke?
Entry level is 350k maximum.
Not for all the staff. Majority (65%) of those working there as desk officers or tellers are mainly contract workers, which are being paid paltry salaries not worth their actual efforts.

And across all banks, promotion are long overdrawn and not certain for every category of staff.

Entry level bank staff earn not less than 300K per month. Some earn more than 400K per month. There are more well paying bank organisations than law firms. Also they don't discriminate against courses.

P.S. Permanent staff.
They don't know.

What's happens to graduate training after?
I feel 350k monthly allowance is still worthwhile, even with the current suitation of the country or what do you think.

Not exactly. Don't rely on what your school alone can pay you. Offer professional services to others who would need your services - home tutoring, online classes, organise tutorials, authoring books etc. Be proactive.

lack of savings is occasioned by the individual lifestyle. It's not the fault the business itself it has to do with discipline. Normally what we do in Nigeria is to put food on the table

Excuse me o, when was kidnapping had respect and dignity before it lost it? You don't seem to get it. Kidnapping is a criminal act, never classified as job anywhere in the world
Put kidnapping aside. The point is, did you understand the post at all? The post asks for jobs that have lost dignity and respect. The post never asked for jobs that fetch money. I mentioned journalism and someone tried to counter me by saying that journalism is a money making machine. The post is not talking about making money. The post is talking about dignity and respect. That is why I reminded the person that kidnapping is also a money making machine. You jumped into the conversation and took a side without understanding the topic.
