There are no vacancies across local government councils in Osun state. A fresh election when the tenure of those previously elected haven’t ended is an undemocratic way to resolve an act of impunity and lawlessness committed by the governor.

Peter Obi went to the same Court of Appeal to reclaim his mandate and he was allowed to fully serve his term of office. The elected local government council officials should be allowed to fully serve their term of office which will expire in October, 2025 as directed by the court. There is no need for any urgent election except those to be elected will assume office in October.

Nurudeen Ademola Jackson should stop the impunity and respect the judgement of the court. When you’re in a hole, you fvcking stop digging. Allocations from FAAC will only be released to the council officials whose election have been validated by the court.
Rubbish. After governor lose election they will remember to conduct illegal local government election and u expect the incoming governor not to dismiss them

Yes, there wouldn't be after Sunday.

You see the problem, you are comparing grapes and apples.

Peter Obi reclaimed his mandate because the Supreme Court held that the election was not supposed to have held since his tenure wasn't over.
In this case, a Court of Appeal judgement have said that the election that produced these LG Chairmen/Councillors was faulty, invalid, illegal and unconstitutional. So can you place something on nothing?
Please, which Court of Appeal Judgement are you talking about?

Any tenure of official which will serve within another tenure must not exceed d duration of term of d formal.

You have 4years and in your 3rd year,u conduct a local election that will run for 4 years. That's wrong
Based on your analogy, it’s not wrong. Local government’s tenure is different from state government’s tenure. That’s why election of many states don’t happen on the same day again.
Having different party as chairmen of local government and having another man from another party as state governor of that same state is lawful. We have only got used to politics of ‘winner takes it all’ in our states. That’s why it looks absurd to see a PDP man as governor but also have local governments chairmen as APC,.

Sebi we have different party representatives at House of Assembly and House of Senate and their leaders come from majority party’s vote. And they don’t fight that all House members must come from one party. Why then can’t we tolerate such in our states, if not because our governors are thîeves, greedy and lazy.
They want to use puppets as local government chairmen and be spending local government money anyhow.
They know they can’t spend opposition party’s money anyhow in a state where all chairmen don’t come from the same party.

Oyetola did it wickedly but within the law. He was using caretaker committee all along but the moment he noticed he had lost on his second term bid, he conducted a ‘proper’ election under law to create problem for PDP and also allow APC to be relevant in PDP’s government.

Adeleke too will do the same thing for another party, if he is in Oyetola’s shoes. I am sure why he is conducting local government election is because of LGA autonomy.

So you didn't know the APP also filed a likewise suit like the PDP's?
So should the SGF now choose the ruling to uphold?
I have tried to explain to you that you cannot use the APP decision as both courts including that which which dismissed PDP case are court of concurrent jurisdiction. Therefore their rulings are specific to their case in hand.

So specificslly, PDP case re the LG was thrown out and therefore the situation reverts to status quo ante. Finish. The Osun state LG tenure ends in October.

Simple.

The AG is simply stating the law. He is not imposing it. If Osun state holds elections tomorrow it will not stand simple.

There is no complexity about this.

Can you share copies of court judgement/documents that gave that verdict, please?
What I heard was that a court in Akure declared October 2022 LGA election conducted by Oyetola a valid one.

I have warned my younger brother in Osun who is a PDP’s PA not to go out o.
For the records, I have the complete 53-page document.

The APC asked for 4 reliefs:
1. That the amended OS should be set aside.
2. That the Courts should rule on the merits of the case.
3. That the officials should be reinstated?

Tye Appeal Court held;
1. The amended OS be voided.
2 & 3, they won't decide on these.

Christistruth02:
The Appeal Court has said they are not Illegal LG Chairmen and Appeal court is higher

if Appeal court has recognised them then their Election is not illegal

What is the ruling on the APP suit and what is the specificity?

Are you aware that the APC has gone to re-enlist the Appeal!
So the SGF can cherry-pick which rulings to follow ba?

Well, hopefully tomorrow's election will be peaceful.

See them. Ask the same ekiti man what haooen during Fayemi era. Fayemi started all this sacking of local Government chairmen and other governors now took after him. Till today, The sacked chairmen won at the court but he never returned them nor pay them there entitlement till he left the post and you all suddenly turned deaf ears now that it's affecting una APC shege.
Fayemi did it doesn’t mean it’s right for others to follow. If it’s not stopped now, there would be chaos. Since Tinubu decided to exempt local government funds from state government, those greedy governors have chosen to be interested in local government funds too by placing their own people. How is development going to get to grassroots if the state governors are now planning to hijack both the state and local governments funds.
Don’t let hatred for APC blindfold you from seeing the truth bro, use your head.
Re: Local Government Election holds tomorrow In Osun - Governor Adeleke by hotseat: 1:23pm On Feb 21, 2025
Those advising Governor Adeleke are about to lead him into a political cul-de-sac, if you ask me.

In a situation of dispute or if one is dissatisfied with a judgement of a Court, there's always a remedy to appeal to a higher Court until it gets to the highest court in the land - the Supreme Court.

Resorting to self-help would be a contravention of the law and it's one's belief that the Governor is mindful of this legal fact.

Holding an election in complete violation of a Court ruling could only amount to an exercise in futility.

Although, this is Nigeria where Court rulings are often trampled upon with ignominy.

It's really getting hotter in Osun's political landscape. I pray they shouldn't declare 'state of emergency' in Osun state.

Anyways, I wish Senator Ademola Adeleke all the best in this fight

In short, you will cause chaos in Osun State tomorrow and guess what? Your term will be cut short with State Of Emergency.

Education is never a scam. If you can remove elected local government chairman, then the president has all right to remove you by anyway necessary. If one of these governors is not use as an example, others won’t learn.

State of emergency loading in OSUN……………
