From Jos to port harcourt, you have to give driver 250-350k for settlement of police , army , produce touts , army collects 1k -3k each checking point , police 500-2k each checking point, produce touts 2k-5k each checking point, Nigerians have already witnessed hell by been a Nigeria, doing legitimate business is more risky in Nigeria than doing illegitimate business.

It has been apc anti Igbo policy since they came to power the south east never experienced all these military occupation and extortions during the years of the pdp.

I believe that the order to turn every checkpoints in the south-east into very lucrative tollgate was given from above. It is a deliberate policy of the APC to turn the region into a beast of burden. Why do I think so? Just take a look at the boldness of the officers at those tollgates. Irrespective of how strident the calls to disengage with this method, the guys at Abuja will turn deaf ears. That is because they are getting the remittance. And they won't stop until they're forced to stop. The main ideology behind the APC is the continuous marginalisation of the former Eastern Nigeria and the looting of her resources for the development of other regions. Nothing else
You are very intelligent this is exactly the current situation.

Welcome admission by the Police, let's wait for the army's confession too.

Regional police maybe.
State police will be abused. Look at Uzodimma and his Ebube Agu menace
They all have ill trained state vigilantes all over the country...might as well bite the bullet and get a state police that can only function with adequate checks and balances........every state police must be supervised by a polie commission populated by state DSS director, local army commander, tradional leaders, selected non indigenes and state officals etc

Even if we pay 1 million in tax per person in Nigeria now, criminals lik the ones in Aso Rock will steal it. That's beside the case we're treating.

What I insist on is local knowledge. Local knowledge will remove a lot of things like much spending. So forget about frightening us with money, safety deserves all we can put into it.
Same thing for state police since the people doing the thing are like the people in the villa

Hope Uzodimma is a murderer

The IGP is in charge; he makes the final call. PSC is a commission mostly full of retired police officers who only make recommendations to the main police force. So, he cannot do anything about it.

DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd) made the comment
Oo, okay, I've always thought it was made up of those still in the line of duty

Sorry, you cannot give a verdict and produce an outcome of an event that didn't take place.

What are you really afraid of?

Perhaps they should launch their own books on the atrocities their men commit on the highway and during elections.
I d buy that for a dollar.

It's really funny if the Police commision man said all this...

If you know, you know, you know, what are you doing or what have you done about it, or is it just knowing?

I prefer the army checkpoints remain and all the police checkpoints be dismantled... Then all the officers posted to Tiger base should have all their families relocated to Imo state also, e get why... What is good for the goose...an eye for an eye

Or better still, all the police checkpoints be moved to Orlu and Orsu, since those are the two areas always causing nuisance in the state

Ol guy, check well. The nuisance in Orsu and parts of Orlu were caused by an Owerri zone group that lost out after the Supreme Court pronounced Hope Uzodinma as governor of Imo state.
Simon Ekpa or IPOB has no business with Orsu or Orlu. If Ekpa or IPOB people had any grouse against Imo state, Owerri would have been their focus for attacks.

they can't try this shit in my territory(northern) Nigeria. as long as Igbos are scared to d!e for their right, they will always be downgraded by Nigerian gvt. it's really a pity, and Nigerian gvt's very partial and bias.

At least they have accepted human rights abuses in southeast. They should be prosecuted and relieved of their duties. They're same with criminals, no difference.
