Majority of Nigerians are dumb. I cannot believe a time will come that Nigerians will start fighting themselves over who to support between IBB and Abacha..... the 2 biggest devils in the history of Nigeria. They have launched a book that will still cause bigger division between the people. Now u people are starting to take sides, I cannot believe any reasonable Nigerian will try to whitewash either IBB or Abacha in this life, apart from the ones that got licenses and conracts and appointments from them

I believe now that Abacha was either fully or partly behind the annulment of June 12. Fir various reasons I will list now.

1, When IBB handed over power to an interim government. Abiola was still fighting for his mandate, He never accepted the annulment.. Ibb did nothing to abiola cos they were actually friends.

2. It was Abacha who after forcing Sonekan who was interim president to step aside in a peaceful coup that now ordered arrest of Abiola, IBB was no longer in power nor interested in power. Abacha could have fixed the problem since he was in power since he knew everything about it but choose to show he was either the mastermind or partly involved and went further to finish the job cos he was power hungry.

3. Abacha wanted power and would definitely not let abiola have it. IBB was indifferent but went along with the strongest influence (just like buhari did in 2023 elections) and let Abacha have his way or go with his idea... Both IBB and Buhari are like Pontius pilate.

They don't commit the crime but they allow the crime to be committed and do nothing to stop it.


4. IBB despite being president at the time cannot act alone on a decision of such magnitude. He consulted with people. Who were they? Abacha was one of them surely.

5. If IBB was evil, Abacha was evil pro max.

All what you wrote did you witness or made them up.

Most of you need to ask your parent about ibb tenure in Nigeria. That man is devil on earth himself.

IBB was right, Abacha annulled 1993 Presidential election because Abacha was Northern political elites/Mafias' endorsed butcher, reason Buhari adored him so much more than anything on earth because Buhari too was an unforgiven sadist.



Northern Nigeria Mafias replaced Abacha with Buhari, they love Moslem extremists, and Buhari was a perfect Moslem extremist, reason Buhari enjoyed cult-like followership in the North, not because of his good character or good leadership qualities but because he was a radical Moslem ready to kill for Islam and to defend the Northerm Moslem interest at all cost.



Northerners don't like IBB just as they don't like Atiku because both IBB and Atiku are not radical Moslems, and they leaned towards Southern lifestyle of libelism.



IBB was right, Abacha annulled the 1993 election with Northern political elites/mafias backing and IBB was handicapped to act against Abacha's decision because Northerners backed Abacha's decision and were ready to even assassinate IBB if he dared challenge the decision to annul the 1993 Presidential election that MKO Abiola won.

From what you responded to and now....
So IBB saved himself from harm and let the country face the consequences.
Well, one main area I like Abachsyis that he never cared of the sanctions of the USA and Europe.
If only we could have such leaders and grow and drive our economy the best way it can be done then relying on handouts.

Useless leaders who dealt with the economy of this country.
Most young nigerians do not understand the level of damage IBB inflicted on this country.
The Nigerian economy never recovered from his failed Structural Adjustment Programme initiative. When Babaginda took over government, our anual inflation stood at 6%, but as at 1989, inflation stood at above 50%.
None of our past leaders deserve to be celebrated.

Offcourse we know IBB was evil no doubt but he was friends with everybody and help them without demanding a pound of flesh like many political benefactors. He was deadly and dangerous like the average soldier however had his good side. His policies were controversial but her performed it some areas.

Abacha was the best president Nigeria ever had.
He stayed in the country throughout his tenure, dealt with the big men that are still our problem today, the exchange rate was stable, inflation was stable.

Though we were still children, but I was already well in secondary school and can remember things clearly before IBB left office.

It's too early to revise this part of Nigerian history. They should wait till my generation is also gone before claiming the man is a saint or a hero.
