They would all desert this thread. It wont not go beyond the second page. Most of them would still look for ways to support this evil. Shameless people. Lock the market for five years. |

Faceless Association and Peter Obi...now he looks like a fool asking why the plumbing section was not open. NAFDAC should do an interview and call him out...then bring him there to come and see. Makes me wonder what he knows because the section he wants NAFDAC to reopen is now considered the HQ of fake drugs and adulterated drugs. Peter Obi...what do you know? Wow. This is just horrible. The chairman himself is not a serious human being. Imagine not mentioning anything like informing the authorities if a situation like this repeats. A penalty of N500,000 in a multimillion (?billion) naira business is like encouraging them to continue. I doubt he's not aware...if true, he should step down...na this same person go attack president if not immediately aware (or does not respond immediately) of security events like kidnapping, etc. It's now clear that in this market, lots of shady deals are ongoing. Same is the story in similar markets. Government needs to do something drastic.. When I travelled to the Middle East, in one big market, I remember seeing security officials at strategic points...who knows if they have a station within the complex. Government should consider setting up security stations within the market. Traders and their stalls should be regularly inspected. The flow of goods should be inspected too. The trust they had...they have betrayed it so they can't be allowed to run things without supervision. Government should ensure a HEAVY presence in the market...if they are opposed, the market should be shut down...as it is a major health threat to others. In the past few weeks, we've seen a lot. Children no longer respond to treatments as they used to. Antibiotics no longer as effective. Paracetamol no longer able to contain fevers. I know there are other factors that may be involved (antibiotics resistance and underlying pathology), but FAKE MEDICATIONS is also a major consideration. The black man is innately wicked. We can go to any extent to make money...even if it means killing our brothers. Imagine yesterday, I read of a young man in the SW (Ondo or Osun) that killed a pregnant woman, dissected and brought out her twins...for money rituals that won't even work. Imagine! Our security agencies must step up! Enough of the blackmails. If you face one end, people will scream tribalism and other stuff...they should do their jobs notwithstanding the protests of others. If such protests interfere with their job, all protesters should be arrested and prosecuted. We are slowly losing our society to criminals. If not careful, it may be too late! Additional Note. I see people calling Peter Obi here and there. Why, really? Na him package the drugs or what? Una get any evidence tying him to this horrible thing? Eh? You guys are just impossible. You politicize or tribalize everything. If una no add politics, religion, and tribalism to every issue, una no go bellefull. Na why politicians dey use una up and down. PO was not wrong to call for the reopening of the market. Why should the entire market be shutdown? That's even a lazy move. Government should first put boots on the ground to investigate and identify offenders. Shutting everything down is a lazy and easy call that lacks intelligence. This should only be considered if pinpointing offenders is antagonized by the operators of the market. Otherwise, security agencies should do their due diligence and locate these people. Or you want tell me say EVERYBODY in the market dey sell illegal and illicit drugs? Come on! |

SatoshiX:Including the West. The sad news is that this people are as guilty as those that cleared it at custom. I think such operations shouldn't end here. NAFDAC should investigate and trace the unit that cleared these goods into the country. If we do proper investigation and hold everyone involved accountable I can assure you that a lot of these nonsense would have stopped. Today we arrest the onwers of the drugs whereas those that allowed them to import it are not sanctioned what happens is that another crop of illicit drug dealers will show up and the same custom will look elsewhere. In this case custom should be dtagged into it. |

Looks like a set up to justify the total closure of the market after Peter Obi's call. Why now, why not before Peter Obi call? |

dettolgel:A great point here! These meds should be traced backwards until we reach the point it entered the country. But I don't trust our country that much to be honest as the guys there are big shots and Nigeria is not known to prosecute big shots. You'll be surprised that up the network, you'll find heavy politicians and influencers. But can our government do the necessary? |

Jokerman:Stop it, I beg. A set up, how? No be the chairman dey there dey talk? Abi him follow for the setup? A serious crime has been committed here. For once, let's come together and condemn it. Let's support the government to do what it has to do. The impacts of selling counterfeit and expired medications is massive. You can't be sure someone in your family hasn't taken one sef. As in, you fit take medicine for malaria go end up with liver and/or kidney failure. Make we reason this matter well. |
