King Xerxes, smitten with Esther's beauty, placed a crown 👑 on her head cementing her position as his new queen.

God would later use queen Esther to save the Israelites from genocide thus preserving the Abrahamic lineage through which Jesus would come.


Four things we can learn here about beauty and beauty contests:


1. Beauty competitions aren't always a true test of beauty. True beauty isn't just outward but inward, born out of a close relationship with God. Esther was beautiful within and without. (1 Peter 3:3-4, Proverbs 31:30)

2. An attractive woman can win a beauty competition, but if she lacks decisive judgement like Esther who saved her people from extinction, she's a gold ring in a pig's 🐷 snout. (Proverbs 11:22)

3. The intensive use of make-up and creams by beauty contestants cannot replace the presence of God which truly beautifies. (Psalm 50:2) The glory of God overshadowed Esther as everyone who saw her loved her. (Esther 2:15)

4. Many modern beauty contests like that of Esther's era, have had cases of sexual exploitation by its organisers.

Esther was not only beautiful, she was an epitome of beauty.

Esther is known by billions worldwide, not only for her good looks but courage, faith, wisdom and dedication.

How many beauty queens today can stand out like Queen Esther?

Very few, if any indeed.

When I encounter people who behave differently, it is almost always a reflection of the environment they grew up in. Same principle is taught in medicine. Dunno what makes a woman beautiful though I know what makes them ugly. To me, the absence of contentment in the negroid female is the most distaasteful trait I've seen in human females. Seeing African women putting on Cucausian hair makes them seem really like objects of mockery to me. Why aare black women the only ones not ptoud of their natural looks. I just love how all the males here are chanting character. While I totally agree, characters are modified by external factors. Noone is born with a good or bad character.

Her character which you adore now was carefully cultivated by a loving family/environment that nurtured it. It is no wonder that most girls from educated family backgrounds appear decent.

A peaceful loving woman will most likely change when thrown into a hostile environment.
