Great100000:Interesting, always say this when a southerner (like Jonathan) is ruling and keep number when a northerner is ruling. It’s all part of the born to rule mentality from a region whose political leaders are the one sending the country to Stone Age. |

Odin13:You think South South is dense like you? Let the East test their political prowess by aligning with the North and let see where it'll take them too. For your info, south-south can't be cajoled to please your interest. As it stands, North-Central, South-South and Southwest will stand with Tinubu whether you like it not. You also think the people of Southern Kaduna and Plateau will be daft to vote a Fulani person back into power and jettison their security? Oga, stop dreaming, Nigeria is better off with Tinubu for now though their are teething problems and challenges the country is passing through. |

I thought they said north alone have the capacity to vote out Tinubu. Whatever impact El Rufai has,it ends in kaduna. |

This one is still a kid and knows nothing about politics. Go and ask what happened to Abiola when he made similar stupid statements. Igbos encouraged the North to humble him. The can never humiliate any part of South, without the active support of a part of South. Buhari made such statements because he already teamed up with yorubas. If Igbos decide to play the chameleonic and zero integrity/principle that yorubas exhibit in Nigerian politics, they would always mean up with North to humiliate you guys. To defeat Tinubu is simple, an alliance between North and Igbos will sack him from aso rock. But Igbos are not willing to team up with ethno religious bigots like El Rufai and Kwankwaso unlike Yorubas that would jump at the offer without minding the effects on Nigeria. SE and SS always votes in one direction and both regions have far more political value than 5 SW states. Lagos election is not determined by yoruba voting direction. Middle belt Christians also vote in the same direction with SE and SS and that's why Abuja is always won by those supported by these regions. Having zero principle & being wicked to accept alliance with evil people like Buhari against those with conscience like Jonathan doesn't mean you're relevant, it only shows how wicked you are too as a group. Alliance with South South....? Yet he pushed for overthrow of Jonathan Don't he knows that IPOB extend to South South. The Christians he hates in the north will never stand with him. I'm not a fan of ronu but I'll rather endure them than Hellrufai alliance. |
| Re: We Need A Rescue Operation – El-Rufai To North, South-South Stakeholders by obaidan: 5:44pm On Feb 23, 2025 |
Igbo presidency is long overdue, but the south easterners need to understand that alliances have to be made. The nation is so broken and tribal sentiment is so rife that u need to make serious effort to strategically build bridges across tribal divides to get what you deserve. Sadly it always looks very difficult for SE to form alliance with the north. SW or SS or north is not your problem, the inability to get a strategic alliance is the issue. For example Obi's choice of running mate in 2023 brought no political value to that ticket. I don't think more than 150k people voted for that ticket because of Datti. Useful alliances in future will help. Imagine after a terrible Buhari(a northerner) performance for 8 years, Atiku(another northerner) still had almost 7million votes-most of those votes from the north, that is the person the SE should be working with. Maybe it's time to form an alliance with Atiku again in 2027. |
| Re: We Need A Rescue Operation – El-Rufai To North, South-South Stakeholders by proeast(m): 5:45pm On Feb 23, 2025 |
You're deceiving yourself. Igbos have a big influence because they're majority in both SE and SS. Both regions vote in same direction because of religious, ethnic, socio-cultural affinity. Just pray that an alliance between Igbos and North is not reached because that would be the end of Tinubu in aso rock. He is the most unpopular president in the history of Nigeria & not even rigging will save him. badoh: |

When you were ganging up with the west to force Tinubu on us you forgot the south. Now that you have been disappointed you now know that north can cooperate with south to save Nigeria. You are not serious |

Odin13:There is a very sad reality you have to come to terms with my bloda.. Igbo political realities in Nigeria are totally different when compared with those of the other 2 major ethnic groups. The Igbos have not been able to produce a president since 1966. This is not because they're terrible at politiking as is being sold by the Lagos dubious press, it has a lot to do with the ethnic gang up arising from the events of 1966 to 1970. People like Babangida understands this and seem to be getting tired of such, hence his bombshell of a book. People like Buhari and Tinubu want this to go on and on and on.. If it was an igbo man that helped Buhari to be president in 2015, Buhari would have found enough reasons to renage and will never have handed over to him like he did to Tinubu in 2023. You have to understand your problems and predicaments in particular situations in order to be in a position to solve them. Igbos supported PDP wholeheartedly, yet when it came to producing the Vice president, Obasanjo went for an ijaw man. You think that was a coincidence? You don't know that if igbos protested that move then, it would have totally torn the Ss away from the SE? What did the igbos get from supporting all the fulani and Yoruba presidents post 1970? Nothing! Why? Because igbophobia is a religion that is fervently being practiced at Abuja post 1970. It will take more than just an ordinary political alignment over a presidential election to change this. It will involve a chain of events to force the hands of the northerners especially. (Since the SW are just northern political lapdogs). Something close to Abiolas scenario post Jun 12- 1992 to Abachas death in 2008. |

obaidan:Babangida book just published has shifted possiblity of Igbo president another 2 decades backwards at least. He said it wasn't Igbo coup but nullify that assertion by his words on the same paragraph and I quote: “I may be wrong here since this view is speculative. I admit here that my views may be the views of a naive officer who viewed things from a distance” The old wound has been reopened and the memory of how Igbos kpai some prominent norther leaders during the coup will definitely made it impossible for them to ally with SouthEast any time soon. The only choice is Tinubu 2nd term and another northerner 2031. |

omooba969:You think Atiku will betray the SE? Well that is possible, but then the SE needs an alliance with a major voting bloc, amd I don't see how else to get that outside of Atiku, who is actually the most valuable politician from the north in terms of votes(especially with buhari out of the picture). |
