Imagine super leading the killing of innocent Igbo and still praising them

Anyway no one have the blame in the civil war than ojukwu, if he's intelligent enough he's suppose to know that some foreign countries who picked interests in Nigeria wealth and resources will surely side a northern rule leaders, how then do you want to win with your shakabula made weapons?

Igbo take all the blame, you want to secede from Nigeria, then why invade the Midwest and planning to invade west. Ojukwu planned to finished the Igbo coup that his kinsmen major Nzeogwu failed to finished

As a veteran of the history of the 30-months Nigerian Civil War, I've read a lot of books and war materials written by combatants from both sides since the early 1980s with a lot of those books in my home library.

The Ogbunigwes were crude weapons (made only for local use without any commercial sales value according to one of the RAP researchers and inventors by the name Dr. Edward Kaine who was a former director of PRODA).

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2010/04/how-i-built-bombs-for-biafra-kaine/

Ogbunigwes were NOT entirely perfect beyond the hype and they devastating even killed a significant number of the rebels (or secessionists) who were detailed to operate and fire them at the Federal troops.
The crude Ogbunigwes sometimes exploded and killed the operators, so, RAP had to look at ways of trying to correct the errors right to the point when the Nigerian Civil War ended in January 1970.

IBB has lived life to the fullest. He’s been there, done that.
What does he gain by trying to patronise Igbos?…nothing?
He has told his story. If you have issues with his accounts…you can make your opinion known.

The Biafran Military hierarchy were just amateurish to be honest, shelling and setting IEDs known as ogbunigwe weren't gonna stop the Nigerian military juggernaut from bulldozing their way all over Biafran land. If they had taken heed from their mercenaries from Europe, who had extensive experience fighting guerrilla bush wars all over Africa, they would have allowed for selected sniper scout reconnaissance units to sniff out Nigerian Officers and NCOs leading from the front, if you hit Officers who had extensive and expensive British colonial training like Obasanjo, Buhari,IBB, Danjuma, Abacha, Vatsa, Muritala Mohammed, that black scorpion guy and co, I am sure the war would have been a stalemate..
Honestly the only post with sense here.
But to be candid majority of the Biafra fighters are untrained people, even their officers are hurriedly put together with no true training.
While the dense south eastern jungle could serve as a challenge its not entirely new to the Nigerian forces most of who also hails from the rainforest south with some of the southsouth informant working for the Nigerian forces unlike the US opposition in Vietnam...

It would have made the war long and costly, but the Nigerian forces would still win regardless. Biafra lacks major international support with effective defensive weapons unlike the Vietnamese and other smaller guerrilla forces that has effectively resisted against a larger corps.

He narrated details of the war in strategy and weaponry and the inhumane treatments to women and children through starvation. Something I find worrisome cos why should the whole east lack self sustainable food to the point relied on the enemy and could be starved to death in war time. its an illegal war practice and crime but a major weakness.

Why are u upset about simple discussions of war strategy and weaponry?

I'm Yoruba, but this is funny. Too many Achebe's on nairaland. Great! Nigeria has some great writers.

3 million innocent women and children starved to death, sometimes I just pray Russia, Egypt, Britain will remain absolutely neutral if and when Nigeria goes off orbit. But of course Biafra 2.0 will be a much smarter war with technology , all the food industry, farms, farm storage , food markets, food shops , fruits, fruit spots can be obliterated within a short period.
The Nigerian side had their army, navy and air force plus help from 8 different countries but we still messed them up. If there's another war, it'll be a walkover for us

Moved on from where and to where?
Since February 15, 1966 we haven't moved an inch as a nation and the reason is because we have yet to acknowledge where we're standing. Treating history like it never existed will always make us repeat it in the future.

IBB's book is telling us how he tried to make a non-northerner win but the South-East didn't want it. Nzeribe the rich man started the ABN movement that clamoured for military rule to continue, while the South-East stood behind Northerner Tofa so that Abiola the man with the muslim-muslim ticket would not win. History unfortunately finds a way to sickly repeat itself.
Where did you see South East in that you quoted, is SE in existence then? You guys and bigotry and 5&6, you don't know much but always rushing to open mouth waaaa!!!

it is you who is delusional. It is within the rules of war to attack military positions, personnels and infrastructure during wartime. But against the rules of war to attack civilians and civilian infrastructure during wartime. This is what constitutes a war crime and borders on genocide depending on the extent and it was indeed the case during the civil war.

Personally, I have written about this civil war and how Igbos are labelled as conspirators which I still stood by.

Now that General Babangida is trying to dribble us again, and Igbos are saying otherwise, I think we all need to take a step back.

Number 1, IBB cannot be trusted. A man who lied against dead people. Firstly, he lied against Abacha that he alone annulled June 12 and not togerher with him, and secondly, he insisted that Vasta planned a coup against him without giving us a real evidence even till this moment. Can we trust such person? A man who bastardised Nigeria. A man who finished Nigeria. He has lied on several occasions.

The truth is that Igbos themselves are victims of this evil man. And what IBB is trying to do now...he will meet a shameful end.

Now, let's be real. Igbos don't need Nigeria anymore. This is the truth. Listen, Igbo will prosper on their own if they can unite and do something. As long as Yoruba and Igbos are in the same nation, there will be problem. The earlier we forget the past and move on, the better for everyone.

Yorubas don't trust Igbos, and vice versa. This is the truth. I read a post where an Igbo said Yoruba are backstabbers. Lol. I have written about this na. While I don't see Yorubas as backstabbers, they just are experts in playing Igbos. Why? Na lie a dey lie? Tell me. Do we need to start arguing how forceful Igbos are? Igbos cannot deny it too. Dem go dey talk like say dem own everything. Lol. But those Yorubas, dem go just dey silent, dey shake their heads as if they have succumed to Igbo's bullying....dem go just dey watch Igbos dey ginger and swagger all over the places. At the last min, dem go cut dem Igbos ticket. grin Amd na so Igbos go dey cry bitterly. E dey happen many times na. So, they can't unite. Let's be factual here.

The Biafra war is a lesson for us all. The best is that we go our separate ways and stop fooling ourselves that Nigeria will work. Nigeria will NEVER work. Healing will not take place unless we go our separate ways.

Goodluck to you all.
Just say Yorubas are cunning and untrustworthy and move on, their schemes are cowardice and not dribbling anything

Yes but not at the severity that you think. For instance the bombing of the WK convoy was a war crime even though it was done in error.
Both sides, Hamas and isreal have committed war crimes, Israel investigate and prosecute whoever is found to be guilty of this crime while Hamas celebrate theirs.

Isreal block UN food supply and aid from getting to Gaza. They also cut off water supply to GAZA

Yet there has been more UN food supplies coming into Gaza during the siege than when they were in peace time. They didn't block aid, there was a restrictions on the number of trucks that come in a day due to the checkpoints.

Yeah they cut off water supply during the siege . They're under no obligation to supply water to Gaza especially given what happened in October 7.
