The day I got genuinely informed that Abdullahi Adamu would be picked as APC national chairman, I called someone to tell him and to my surprise, he was surprised but because he knows that I would never have called if I wasn’t sure, he asked me to give him a few minutes, that would call Bourdillion.

When he got back to me, he said that the news was confirmed to him by BAT boys at Bourdillion and they told him that he should not worry. He said Tinubu had already planned for a possible eventuality in case election was not allowed and somebody was impose instead of Al-Makura.

He said that they were even in celebration mood because if Adamu was imposed, some other aspirant will think that they leading in the scheme of things while Tinubu is losing or far behind and that’s exactly what Jagaban Borgu wanted.

That was the day I feared Asiwaju most and I am not joking.

Adamu was from PDP just like the Port Harcourt Sprinter and because fPMB knew that all that mattered to him was that there would be presidential primary, he listened to those around him who put Adamu’s name forward. He acted like he was favouring them.

The Port Harcourt Sprinter and a few other APC leaders who conspired to remove Oshiomole because of Tinubu thought that they were above Tinubu.

They thought that Adamu would convince Buhari to not let election hold but to their dismay, Adamu betrayed them and instead went for Ahmad Lawan, another northerner when a northerner was rounding up his 8 good years as president.

Adamu did not have his way at the APC NWC meeting.

But he was looking for a way to take Tinubu out of the contest by making fPMB strike against Asiwaju.

And the opportunity came the day Akanbi made the Emilokan declaration in Abeokuta where he also reminded everyone how Buhari ran the first time and ‘lule’, the second time and ‘lule’, the third time too before he won with his help the fourth time.

Buhari was not in the country that day and so
Adamu became very enraged. He said that Tinubu would pay dearly for that statement.

That’s a man who came from PDP threatening the founder of APC and the one who made fPMB win the party’s ticket against dollar rich Atiku in Lagos.

Tinubu did not reply him.

Some unstable characters started calling Adamu the Wizard that had the ability to tame Asiwaju and I was looking at them like Ekiti bat.

Buhari knew that there would be election and that if it held, Tinubu would trounce everyone but social media data politicians were here ranting.

Adamu was there as the counting was done and he saw live that Tinubu’s political anointing is potent enough to tame any political wizardry by anyone,

I was in Enugu few months into Tinubu presidency.
I was chatting with an Igbo guy that grew from nothing into something big - very legit business.
He said some about Tinubu... " whatever anybody is saying about that man is their business. For now, he is my role model... whatever strategies he used to get to the top against all odds is worth emulating"


Since then, my own idea is how to break barriers against all odds.

Lagos money was too enormous to use to achieve virtually anything in Nigerian politics.


The greatest asset Tinubu have is Lagos state treasury and that is why he doesn't joke with it and that is why he is doing everything to pass the new tax reform bill to make more money via VAT available to Lagos state for the incoming Governors of Lagos state of which his son Seyi is going to be.


Tinubu's era is gradually phasing out, what we the observers are trying to figure out is the person that will take over the Bola Tinubu's landlordship position in Lagos; will it be Obasa, Femi Gbajabiamila, Obanikoro, or who will be ruthless enough to bulldoze every opposition using both voodoo, thuggery, assassination and everything possible like Bola Tinubu? Time will tell
