Nothing really. Even if I have all the money I will not JAPA o. This country still dey ok small if you are comfortable. Na to dey go and come back. I cannot come and kill myself with some sort of mental slavery.
Wait o, what’s happening? I thought yall hate Nigeria and will rather be in jail for eternity in America than to live as a billionaire in Nigeria? Ahaha what has changed? I thought 99% of Nigerians are poor and desperately want to leave the country? I can’t believe we still have Nigerian who want good things to happen to the country? Thought we all want evil to happen to Nigeria.

Or are yall lying on this thread? What happen to the japa wave of 2021 to 2022?

I think the japa syndrome is propelled by nothing other than low self esteem.

A Nigerian generally considers himself lower and inferior to a white man. Most Nigerians worship white people.
We hate been black and despise anything black. So this Japa nonsense we are hearing has very little to do with financial independence. We are a loud-mouthed people who complain about everything, especially the government; as long as we are not the ones eating the national cake.

We are just slaves of our own making. We are a disgrace to our ancestors aswear.

I used to have desire to japa when my two of my friends and some course mates moved to UK and US then some neighbors relocated to Canada, Australia, Finland etc.

I felt the need to move too but last year I noticed that those that travelled are not doing too well.

They send nothing home, in committee of friends fund raising groups they barely send more than 10k and these were guys that I know love show off

Three of them that are very close to me one in UK, two others in Canada always tell me about their struggles.

Sometimes when we talk, 11pm they will tell me that they are at work doing night shifts, any time you call, they are working.

These were guys doing well in Nigeria, like I know they make 800-1m in Nigeria. Their businesses were doing fine, they had workers and car.

The other friend in Australia had a good job atleast I know but hearing them talk about going to sweep people's home, going to care for old people, working in factories, working late at night discouraged me.

It's been 4yrs one of them traveled (UK) but he is yet to settle.

I don't want a life of work work work and then at old age what I have only is maybe a rental house that I built because I have observed some people that traveled abroad for greener pastures what they really have to show for it is the house they built in the village or town.

I am not doing too bad in naija and I believe in 2yrs time I should commence my building project

All these over someone else's decision to migrate? Did your ancestors drop on the land they claim or they migrated there? Learn to be civil when sharing your thoughts.

Will you shut up and get out.

The US and Europe are filled with thousands of frustrated Nigerians with degrees, including masters degrees, and are doing security work or driving delivery vans. Many are stuck there and can’t afford to return back because they have no money to start afresh etc.

Many of those guys have friends in Nigeria doing very well and living in mansions, while they are paying rent at small apartments for donkey years in America and UK.

Plus jobs are not as widely available as they used to be.

So STAYING AND BUILDING UP YOURSELF IN NIGERIA IS AN OPTION TO CONSIDER.
US still okay a little bit.. Canada, UK and Europe are bleeped. Go and see how masters degrrr holder are quieing for warehouse job in Canada

Have you been there or just hearsay? And is anyone in competition with you over what kind of house/apt you live in? Why this much bitterness over something you are not so sure of?

🤣🤣🤣

I had to comment because of this particular post. Truth is: many people will return abi japada within the next five years. It will much easier for those who are unmarried and without kids. But with the rising conservative movements, terrible frigid weather and stiffer competition for scarce economic resources in a place where one isn't part of the dominant group, many will move back to Nigeria.

Expect the wave of Return To Nigeria 2030 grin

YOU ARE LAZY. That’s your problem.

Go and learn a skill online for free and offer your services.

Your juniors in this Nigeria are building houses just from money they earn by offering graphic design services, SEO, coding, Forex, crypto trading, YouTube channel etc.

Too many ways to make money in Nigeria today, so long as you put your head down and work.

Training is FREE on YouTube and elsewhere.

But no. You will be talking rubbish until you end up as bottom wiper or security guard in the west.
How dare you call him lazy? Do you have an idea on what he does for a living? Must you be so myopic in your reason and display your toxicity?

I traveled out and I realized we are doomed, Netizen do anything to free yourself from shackles of corruption, nepotism, bad governance etc

Donkey years to come the country will be ruled by the so called cabal's & u Netizen can't do shit about it.

Bleep Nigeria

Japa is not for everybody and at the same time Nigeria is not for everybody including Nigerians especially if you're convinced this is not your Cannan. God told Abraham to leave his people and go out to settle at another location(Country). If Abraham had refused and disobeyed God, it's possible we won't know him today.
As for me, I am convinced I will prosper better in Western world US or Canada if I migrate but what's holding me back is fund and working visa. If God can do it for me, I will come back here to share my testimony.

Nigeria it's cool to stay when you good business, I’m into pig farming, and I can confidently say it’s a highly lucrative business. I’ve been managing a piggery for someone for the past year, so I have hands-on experience and a deep understanding of the entire process—from breeding to marketing. With the right investment, one can recover both capital and profit within just eight months.

I’m reaching out to you because I want to establish my own piggery farm, but I need financial support to take that step. I have the knowledge, experience, and dedication; all I need is the right push to stand on my own. If there’s any way you can support or connect me with potential investors, I’d truly appreciate it.

Thank you for your time, brother. I look forward to your response.

Come to think about it, migration is as old as humans. I came across a stat on Instagram that more than a quarter of a million Brits now live in Dubai. Meanwhile, we've thousands of Nigerians in the UK.

Humans will always migrate.

How do you explain that a very serious someone without a valid permit in uk/canada/usa built a standard house, sent his children abroad on masters and still has other investments in Nigeria, ready to retire after 15years abroad.

Whereas his counterpart in Nigeria who is very very serious with life and savings still earns a mere 170k from his 85k starting salary in Lagos after 15years of working at a new generation bank without any tangible investment, to even pay his childrens fees don hard. NB: his salary is now $100usd per month

His counterpart is now ready to retire to Nigeria, marry a new young wife (fresh blood) whereas he is still trying to figure out life. He is not lazy, He has tried different businesses that failed, he has written cert exams to improve himself.. what more undecided

I love Nigeria but if you're from an average family (now poor family in this economy) and you have the opportunity with regards to finance even if from a lender, kindly leave.

It is not a bed of roses on this side but I prefer a well structured economy than one riding on hope for a better future since 1960

Nigeria will be great again, until then I dy canada dy chill.
Ok
