Immediate-past Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has openly rejected his successor in office, Governor Uba Sani, and the National Security Officer (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, as his friends.

He said that though the duo used to be his personal buddies, they were no longer his friends.

El-Rufai, who disclosed this on Tuesday night while speaking on Arise News Channel’s PrimeTime show hosted by Charles Aniagulu, also said the next election circle in 2027 will show who is politically relevant and who is not.

He particularly accused NSA of nursing presidential ambition for 2031, hence he was allegedly hell-bent on eliminating anyone on his way.

“This project of destroy Nasir El-Rufai is Nuhu Ribadu’s conception. He is the architect and builder of that project. He is the one working with Uba Sani to implement it. So far, it has been frustrating for them,” el-Rufai said.

“Somebody wants to destroy my reputation. Why? Nuhu Ribadu wants to be president in 2031. He has to eliminate every northerner that he thinks is on the radar.”

Instead of pointing fingers, Nasir should check himself and do a soul searching. Almost everyone who were close to him have all abandoned. He’s specially hated in Kaduna state and majority of northern politicians in APC don’t like.

Even Una Sani, a candidate he singlehandedly picked and rigged into office had since distanced himself from him. Dude is a national pariah with an overwhelming negative record and perception. He should immediately forget his presidential ambition because he lacks the intelligence to govern a multi ethnic and multi religious country like Nigeria.

You may laugh now but I hope you don't cry later. The optics doesn't look good right now on you Yorubas and the President, especially in the North. Having a reputation for betraying is not the flex you think it is. It's true what Elrufai said, APC is almost like an abominable word amongst the Northern populace today. The president should step out sometimes and feel the grass.

Even if Tinubu succeeds in winning in 2027 (big IF), he cannot impose a leader on the North. Besides, knowing Tinubu, he would use and discard Ribadu when the time comes. The Yorubas feigning support for Ribadu today will switch up on him in a jiffy, just like they did to Elrufai.

Then on even deeper reflections, what if all of these are part of the chess-moves in the grand scheme of things. What if they have planned all of these in the coven and are only acting it out, with the goals of getting into the heart of the opposition. What if all of the the in-fighting even in Kaduna was a make-believe smokescreen.
