Since 2015-2025, UK has had five PMs yet they can't get it right. Hope Obidients are learning that Government is not by social media. |

"British gas prices reached a two-year high in early February due to cold weather leading to increased withdrawals from gas reserves in Britain and Europe". It's extremely cold in the UK, while some regions in Nigeria are sleeping in their boxers due to the heat. Life truly no balance! On a side note, If na Nigerian government increased electricity bills now, chaos would ensue, trust Obidients, dem go write full theses on this matter. But because it's happening in a supposedly more developed country, it's considered okay. Regardless, living in Europe isn't as easy as some might think Ooo. UK is a shadow of its former self. Look before you leap! Make u no go japa from fry pan to fire Ooo. Even as 50 naira dey useless, e still get value pass 20 naira Ooo. |

Because una dey UK now, the rest of us must follow una share una problem. Nairaland feeds lately na just yeye UK gossips. Fish sink inside water in UK. Cat meow in UK. Dog bark in UK. Still better. I still use less than 4 hours wage to power my apartment for the entire month and those who pay all inclusive rent have zero worries. |

So? Why is this on front page? This news doesn't justify Nigeria prices. UK residents on minumum wage mostly can use one day's wage to pay their 24/7 energy bills for the month. In Nigeria, more than half the monthly minimum wage is needed to pay for unavailable electricity. |

The way inconsequential UK news gets to nairaland front-page is nauseating. What's Nigerian business with 7% energy increase in the UK. How does that affect us? When UK increase driving licence fee or car tax fee, pls let us know. Nonsense. |

Foolish country. Instead of them to find way to end Ukraine way so that they can continue buying Russia cheap energy, they would rather be suffering their citizens for no reason. For a war that is not their business. That's why Trump America first is the best any president can give her citizens. This is why Germany dominant party lost election at all front because you rather punish your citizen for a war that never should have started. |

I know some bankers currently that left their jobs at the best banks in Nigeria immediately Tinubu came in and Japa to UK and Canada. . There are plans currently to send to monies to them from Nigeria due to their state. I told my parent, if the weight of this thing is too much, let them come back to Nigeria abeg. The system there is created for most people (esp. immigrants) to run circles and pay bills and taxes without gathering any meaningful thing in the end. If u are bold and creative, I have said this a million times, stay in Nigeria and build your resources. If what you are hoping for is just to be able to afford good food, chicken, milk etc, you can keep going o. Even shelter and utilities are becoming unaffordable and unavailable at those places now due to increased cost of living. |
