Ahmed would you say the same thing when it's the turn of the north to produce the president?

NOETHNICITY:
Obi was never regarded as an effective governor.

If you check Nairaland, you’ll see how he was heavily criticized at the time for his poor performance.

His tenure as governor was widely seen as a failure.

The only arguably positive thing he did was amassing nearly ₦100 billion in state funds, despite widespread poverty—funds which he kept in his personal bank, earning significant interest.
What is your definition of an effective governor?

Oga I am not referring to nairaland that has of recent been turned by Tinubu henchmen to a platform of misinformation and propaganda!

Secondly, contrary to what you have said,Obi's tenure is still regarded as one of the best in terms of security, education, health and infrastructure.... education and health being the highlight of his administration!
The accolades by the then presidency from another party is evidence of his rare and admirable performance!
His time as governor still holds out as the only administration in Anambra state with an impressive inflation rate of 11% second to that of Lagos state according to an international platform in the UN!

Furthermore, the narrative that he was one of the worse governor is not only preposterous but also laughable!
Anyone can create a platform with similar comments to malign an individual with the right amount of cash but the best place to confirm if a governor has done well is with his people and it was so evident in the last election where Obi got an overwhelming 95% votes from a PDP dominated anambra state!
Can former governors of the South eastern region get such numbers in their own PU?
Even the great Ojukwu contesting as president under Apga could not even win Anambra state despite his popularity!

There is nothing arguable about those funds saved as anyone can simply walk into the said banks mentioned by Obi to make their findings!
The banks mentioned contrary to your false narrative of being his personal accounts actually belonged to the state government which was proven to be true by his successor who used part of the funds to build an airport!

What you also failed to point out as a positive was that he remains the only governor to date that refused landed properties accorded to governors in the state!
He is the only governor that refused to be paid a pension or even enjoy the previlages and entitlements of a former governor and just like you rightly submitted,he is the only governor during his time till date that saved and kept funds for the next administration!

The average Nigerian brain needs to be examined. We come up with some utterly uninformed comments.

People like Ngozi, Osinbajo, Adeshina are exactly the kind of people that would be disasters as presidents.

They are people you appoint o positions and give them the political cover to do their jobs.

Only a gangster, someone not afraid to live permanently on the the line between legality and illegality can effectively run Nigeria. All these technocrats, we like to play by the rules. The problem in a country where 90% of the citizens are criminally minded and lawbreakers is that they will use that same rule of law to derail your government. They will sabotage you left right and center and Nothing will get done and whatever reputation you brought to government will be destroyed.

I remember telling people of Anambra that they will be disappointed under Soludo because he is a technocrat in a post that requires a well intentioned gangster. I noticed they started complaining.

We are a nation of criminally minded people whose default mode is to break the law. It is not a follower of the law or due process you put to manage such people but a fellow criminally minded law breaker!
God bless you. Smartest and most pragmatically sound poster on this thread. Exactly what you said I stated in my previous post below on the same topic. Your parents gave you intelligence and you took it upon yourself to learn well and think logically/critically unlike the many emotional mumus who come here daily to shout NOI, Adeshina etal. When these guys talk,, I wonder whether they even know their own nation well.

As for Bashir Ahmed's comment, a joke in my opinion. Laughable the North, notorious for failing to take the education of the girl-child and empowerment off women seriously, now want to engage in Taqiyah and deciet with the name of NOI simply because they want power away from Tinubu by all means since free FG money has reduced to greedy political hawks in the region whereas allocation to States has officially tripled thanks to fuel subsidy removal.

We have made same conclusion. Only difference in our posts is I used "benevolent and progressive strongman" while you preferred "Well intentioned gangster". Exactly the same thing.

UltraSolid:
Every pragmatic and critical thinking Nigerian, who accepts the reality of our nation, knows that Nigeria must always have a benevolent and progressive strongman, who will then shield technocrats to deliver, as President. It is why GEJ, never a strongman, failed. The consideration is why Tinubu, with time, will succeed massively and beyond expectation.

Anyone who thinks Tunji-Ojo, Minister of interior can deliver as spectacularly as he has done without Tinubu is delusional. Especially how Tunji-Ojo has brilliantly reformed our passport issuance process in Nigeria and globally.

This is why passport issuance under GEJ and Buhari appeared Rocket science yet it is a doddle today under PBAT. Adeshina, NOi, Amina J Mohammed, or any other world class technocrat for that matter, can never dream of defeating the passport cabal to get us where Tinubu now has today. Fact.

Ditto how Taiwo Oyedele, the tax reform supremo and first-class technocrat is complaining about how Northern leaders (the same pretending publicly to love technocrats) are giving him the run-around. If the tax reform bill is delivered, it will 100% be because of Tinubu and not Oyedele who may have the brains but will never have the authority to deliver it per the strong and powerful opposition the bill is facing.

North knows why they must now spin their real agenda, for gullible and Yoruba-hating hacks like you, with a pretence to be shopping for a technocrat in 2027. Simply damage-limitation in their desperation to stop Tinubu and replace him with a 'compliant' Southerner for 4 years till power returns to them.

Pleaaaaaase stop the cap...
Even if Nelson Mandela was Nigerian and ran for president, the fact that he hailed from an igbo region would never make him win.

I have come to the conclusion that Nigeria is a very tribalcentric nation, whereby all ethnic groups in Nigeria jointly detest Easterners by default- Some subtly and some strongly.

They should start with the low hanging fruit- push for the Release of MNK, before talking about the tall order of supporting an Easterner for a presidential bid.

Exactly my thoughts..
Such peraon must be a very pro eastern candidate. All that talk of "someone that is nationally accepted " is balderdash. Was buhari accepted nationally when they forced him on us? The same buhari that was threatening of dogs and baboons being soaked in blood? Same buhari that was presented by boko haram as their negotiator?

How about tiluumbu!? Was he not the most detested candidate to ever win the presidency in Nigerias history? Someone who went on a campaign at Ondo state and started that petty Yoruba banter by referring to Peter Obi as "import and export"? Someone who went to the east and stated that if the igbos did not vote for him against their son, he will only give them a soaked loaf of bread? And Bashir and his cohorts clapped and clapped and found these as good resumes for these two..

Now we are talking of the east and they want Albert Einstein, Socrates and Pluto all rolled into one, with the international appeal of mother Theresa to match! We will send Nnamdi kanu and Simon Ekpa!

Ùmù mgbada!
cc: UltraSolid,

I kinda of like your argument for Tinubu and the backing of policies, but what do you say about the bold?

When the north or the south west wants to produce a president, they will go to their respective ethnic covens to bring out either a desert hyena or an emilokan iguana to come and loot, maim and corner all the nations resources for them. And their whole region will line up behind these crooks to vote them in.

But once there is any serious talk of finding a president from either the south-east or the south south, the same people that fought and killed to impose a drug baron and a killer as presidents, will start looking for non corrupt technocrats with the "global experience, leadership acumen and credibility"! "Someone that is widely respected and accepted"! No more"Grab and run" tribal champions?

In any event, since it is a "turn by turn" lootocracy that we are now practicing in Nigeria, any president coming from either the south-east or the south south must be a crooked theif, willing to loot and corner everything for these two neglected regions, the same way buhari and Tinubu have been doing for the north and the southwest. Everyone should be bringing their most ruthless thief for the presidency..

I think you rather go and demand answers from Murtala Mohammed himself—ask him how many Yoruba from his 2nd Division soldiers from Ibadan were slaughtered like cattle on the battlefield, thrown into the fire as cannon fodder. We are talking about men too weak to face real warriors, sent to their graves for their cowardice and genetic incompetence. Their sheer ineptitude forced Murtala to flee like a rat, abandoning the fight in disgrace until the war’s bitter end. Igbos fight men head-on, never hiding behind massacres of women and children like spineless butchers masquerading as soldiers.

Who told you this side of the story? The battle was basically between Hausa fulanis and the Igbos.

The south west were busy doing awambe in their region while Igbos were dieing of hunger in their war ravaged region.
Many yorubas don't even know that there was war going on in the country at the time.
Go and ask your fore fathers what happened to the Biafra soldiers at ore as they foolishly attempted to cross over to the SW.

This post will only pepe one tribe

To them, hausa will never vote any Igbo man

Their prayer is for gang up against Igbo to continue. That's the only way for them to be relevant politically

Yoruba political relevance dies with tinubu regime.

There was a reason God allowed tinubu to enter that sit. For some things to be exposed

Remove fear and hate against Igbo. Yoruba don't know how to play politics. Tribalism and sentiments against East is what helps them.
Dem don press i.pob mumu button again.
