Masterviolence:You get!! Normally I do not support Russia's invasion of Ukraine o due to the innocent lives it has claimed so far. But at the same time it's hard to ignore things that seek to destroy you too. If I have an enemy close to me and he starts making friends with people who are as powerful as myself then I'll be very concerned as well, I think this was the situation Putin found himself and he had to invade Ukraine. But where I feel he's at fault is why he let it dragged for so long. A one-time heavy strike to serve as a warning would have been enough. Let's be honest, Russia with all its mighty and military strength have suffered a significant loss of lives in this war. A war that could have been avoided in the first place. Soldiers have died following the orders of men who sleep at home well secured and protected. At the end of the war politicians will do round table talks and shake 🤝 hands but mothers, sons, fathers, sisters, and brothers are the ones who continually visit the graves of their lost loved ones and lay flowers down. |

⚡Zelensky: I will not go for even 10 cents of debt repayment in this deal with the US. We are grateful, but it was a grant. If they tell us further that they will give us money on credit - this will be a new reality. |

JerryStellar:This war has been prolonged due to Zelensky and those who seek to weaken Russia. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine mirrors its actions in Georgia, with NATO expansion being the underlying issue. I see many arguments claiming that Zelensky must defend Ukraine to prevent Russia from capturing and destroying it. However, that claim is highly impossible. In January 2022, Russia had approximately 1,014,000 active military personnel. The invasion of Ukraine began with around 200,000 troops roughly 20% of its active forces. Before Hitler’s invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939, Poland had an area of 388,000 square kilometers and a population of 35 million. Ukraine, in contrast, is significantly larger, covering 603,500 square kilometers, and had a population of about 41 million, making it even stronger. Yet, Hitler invaded Poland with 1.5 million troops and over 1,000 aircraft, launching a relentless bombing campaign that left destruction in its wake. Russia, on the other hand, entered Ukraine expecting a swift resolution, similar to Georgia. It would be misleading to compare Russia’s operation in Ukraine to historical invasions. Russia initially sought a quick roundtable negotiation, but the West had different plans. They even pushed Zelensky to sign a decree banning negotiations with Putin, despite knowing he had just secured re-election. The real strategy was to exhaust Russia’s military strength before deploying Western forces on the ground. Recognizing this, Putin adapted, shifting to a prolonged, attritional warfare strategy that could last a decade. |

WriteerNg:I hope Zelensky remains strong enough to resist the temptation of signing away Ukraine's wealth to the U.S. If he does go through with it, he could quickly fall from hero to villain in the eyes of his loyal supporters. What would be the ultimate gain after fighting against your own brother for a distant ally, only to lose your country's resources to that same ally without even securing a true guarantee of protection? Meanwhile, your brother given the opportunity, takes the richest part of your state, and a decade from now, Ukraine could end up under the leadership of a pro-Russian president, undermining everything you falsely claimed to protect. |

Am not trying to castigate anyone's opinion.. since Masterviolence has started the series of arguments in a sane and Liberal way. I feel compel to counter his assumptions while also trying to be Liberal myself.. Russia was trying to decapitate the Ukrainian government by taking the seat of government which is the capital keiv.. that was the objective during the early stages of the war. Taking over the Ukrainian capital and removing Zelensky would have rendered the Ukrainian forces incapable of mounting a defence.. Ukraine and what ever would have remained afterwards would be a puppet state of Russia. Capturing Kiev and removing Zelensky from power can also be judged as "Capturing" the whole of Ukraine depending on what perspective you are looking at it..A Ukrainian state with a puppet of Putin's in power is not a sovereign state... Trying to used the numbers of troops involved in the early stages of the war to buress your point is clearly wrong, The Russians were clearly trying to instigate a regime change in Ukraine, You don't need a million troops to do that.. Hitler wanted to occupy Poland and not change the power dynamics in Poland..for you to invade and occupy a country you need massive manpower not only to remove the sitting government but also to enforce the occupation.. The US invasion of Panama comes to mind. The total US troops were 20k that's a fraction of the total US military population.. the plan was to enforce a regime change in Panama.. Also the invasion of Iraq. the US troops were 400k plus A mere fraction of the total US military active personal at that time. The US just like Russia at the early stage of the present Ukrainian war was trying to change the government in Iraqi. the moment Baghdad fell the Iraqi resistance crumbled and the Iraqi forces surrendered.. The invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent invasion of keiv and the war of attrition currently in the dombass are two distinct military operation.. the moment Putin failed to instigate the regime change in Ukraine he decided to annexed territory for himself hence the uptick in military personnel being deployed by Russia in the dombass region..Not only would Russia need troops to defeat the Ukrainians but will also need troops to enforce and defend the occupation. The defeat of the Russians in keiv. Made the Ukrainians believed that with reasonable military aid they could change the tide of the war and even recover lost territory.. The western bureaucracy debacle stopped the Ukrainians from getting offensive weapons in time to start the offensive..and also the unpredictability of Putin.. the fear of Putin expanding the war.. meant that the Russians had ample time to dug deep and prepare its defences hence the Ukrainian offensive failed.. Zelensky had no blame whatsoever for how the war turned in Ukraine . |

WriteerNg:Werey is saying the money and weapons they gave to him was a grant 😂 Grant for where? Ukraine will pay everything back - with interest. When we kept on saying it here, telling their supporters that the money and weapons were loans, they kept screaming and lying, saying it was for free. Some even said Ukraine would only pay back if it could. Whether Ukraine can pay or not, it will pay back. Even we here that's owning IMF and the World bank around $18 billion, we know what our eyes is seeing not to talk of Ukraine that's owning hundreds of billions. It's funny. But I predict that Russia would have to come to Ukraine's aid in the future, just as it had been doing for years before NATO got in-between them. |

Masterviolence:Putin all day, i prefer Putin as a leader because of his strong focus on national sovereignty and his ability to maintain stability, especially during challenging times. Putin is more experience in governance and strategic decision-making, particularly in defense and foreign policy, this is very important in today's world. |
| Re: Russia-Ukraine War: World News, Weapons & Battlefield Discussions - Live by shoodboi2: 6:07pm On Feb 26, 2025 |
Masterviolence:Truth be told, there is very little Ukraine can do. Trump himself isn't being moral here. He's just interested in ending the war before Russia captures more natural resources-rich land from Ukraine. The US funded Ukraine with the hope of recovering their money by taking over Ukraine's farms, mines, mineral resources, and public infrastructure (electricity, water, etc) The more of those mines and farmland and natural resources-rich land Russia captures, the less benefits there is for the US to exploit. The more public infrastructure Russia destroys, the higher the likelihood of Ukrainians fleeing the country. At this point, there is no way Ukraine wouldn't end up with a pro-Russian government in the future. They would because Ukraine will still have to rely on Russia to give it cheap gas, electricity, fuel and food at some point in the future. |
