Captain Callistus uses Igbo language whenever he is flying the Eastern route.
but Igbos will want to bring heaven down if a pilot does this in Yoruba land right?

This is unacceptable and condemnable. I condemn it, I condemn it. I condemn it.

There are many tribes in that flight, why use igbo.

I call on the Airline to as a matter of urgency sack the pilot now.

The NCAA must investigate this and fine the Airline or face a massive nationwide orotest.
Exactly but some mor0ns here will tell you that you are jealous of Igbos, very stupid people!

Use your common sense! That was unprofessional, how about others who might be on that flight who are not Igbos?
Let them go and learn.

Must you tribalize everything you come across? They swear for your head?

Who cares? At least that will help to reduce it to the level of Ogbomoso and ibadan. Hausa is far more popular than Yoruba yet it's not the language spoken in Abuja because Abuja is cosmopolitan.

I only pity Lagos indigenes that allowed a bastard from another place to come and be destroying their state.

Very soon the law will go out. If you cannot speak Yoruba in Lagos to you are not an eligible resident. Shey ori yin daru ni.

IGBO becoming a global language.

I know one tribe that will simply smile and say Baa Kwome.

But one other will want their own language spoken by a pilot by fire by fire. But before giving the pilot a crash lesson, they will not sleep tonight. Intact some will get high blood pressure that may nearly lead to stroke. To force the Hbp down, they will call Peter Obi and Ojukwu and Ipob.

Their own na follow come.

Chill, It's normal. He's going to translate in English language as well. Maybe he spoke in English language first and decided to show off. Igbo is part of our official language.

He's flying a plane owned by an Igbo man, you don't expect that to be wrong. He's going to get a raise grin

If you're going to quote me, I'm a northern man.

It's a welcome idea if no one feels insecure when it's done in the different languages. Even the English inside plane, how many sentences we dey hear for there?
Re: Flight Captain Giving His Pre-flight Announcement In Igbo Language by Uncletony(m): 5:38pm On Feb 26, 2025
"Why do you hate the Igbos?"

Because:

1. The Igbos are too ambitious.

2. Igbos are too audacious.

3. Igbos are too competitive.

4. Igbos are too dogged.

5. Igbos are too progressive.

6. Igbos are too clever.

7. Igbos are too intelligent.

It's all jealousy & envy.

I spit on all yorubas complaining of a captain using ibi language, your federal universities, your lecturers uses yoruba to lecture, are you telling me non yorubas are not there, was there any complaints , now its ibo those people without teeth dey condemn. I too hate this tribe called Yoruba, they do all these worst than other tribes yet they complain, double standard humans that can never stand on their own, na im make Awolowo plan coup, e fail tag am say na igbo coup. I spit on them on a more serious note .

Not professional, expect it's an all Igbo passenger flight ✈️.

Some people though. 😒
I thought so too regarding the lagos Blue-lite rail.
Why should the announcement be only in English and Yoruba while we have three major ethnic languages in Nigeria?

Great. Very commendable.

I think Air Peace should incorporate this on International flights. First announcement in Igbo, trhen followed by English.

Same thing they do on Turkish Airline, Air maroc, Egypt Air, Emirates etc.
Re: Flight Captain Giving His Pre-flight Announcement In Igbo Language by fkj950ax(m): 5:49pm On Feb 26, 2025
Aviation has a global standard for English.
If you fly any type of aircraft, you should understand and communicate in basic English.
Did he do wrong with Igbo? No. But it’s not the protocol for aviation.

Relax. He must have made the same announcement in English afterwards.
Happens on international flights too. KLM will announce first in Dutch and then later in English. Lufthansa in German first and English second.
It's normal.
