You do not want to be caught in the games of superpowers. You do not also want to be at anyone's camp.

The UN if anything, is a toothless dog. It is only powerful against smaller states, because the UNSC members can enforce sanctions on them.

The UN is nothing but a virtual signalling, moral posturing organisation, it has no power on its own. Abstaining is just the best.

Voting against Russia shows that Nigeria doesn't acknowledge the root cause of this conflict, and voted base on the surface level.

In the end, it's all politics. Imagine hosting a fight in your own backyard and not been allowed to watch. That is eventually what is happening to Zelensky.
