Akpaamunsi: Take it easy, you're the type that motivate these kids to get their parent's rifle and blow out a motherfúcker's brain. This is so unbelievable! 😳 The hate in your heart is pathetic and disgraceful. |

Men I can’t believe I am almost 2 years in chile. I put in my application for my permanent residency and time just flies. Wasn’t it yesterday that I was in a flight landing in Santiago and I didn’t know what to expect. As a black African man, anything you want to do go and do it. We have already lost by being black and being born in Africa especially in shithole countries like Nigeria. I am a very stubborn person and I think that is what has helped me so far. I don’t listen to anybody and I do what comes to my mind. I remember how so many people discouraged me about chile but I still made up my mind to go and take whatever happens. Thank you God for the opportunity. Permanent residency in a bit and nationality soon |

As good as chile is, to be honest I will not advise a Nigerian to come here. The truth is that for most people the journey will end in pains and regret. It’s been a good country for me and has favored me a lot but I think for me a lot of it has just been divine intervention because things just worked when they weren’t meant to work and defied all odds but might not be so for the next person. |

Here in chile your temporary residency visa as a student is valid for 2 years. Unlike other countries chile has nothing like a job seeker visa or a period to find work or anything like that. You need to be able to have a job within the two years they give you to be able to prove economic stability to able to apply for permanent residency. They have also changed the system. They require mandatory pension contributions and health insurance. My employer takes care of that for me but even as an independent worker, those payments are completely mandatory. I am glad I was able to get everything I want but I won’t really advise another Nigerian to come here without being sufficiently prepared to be honest. 99 percent will fail on this journey |

I am so glad I made the move when I did. I thank God everyday but I wouldn’t advise another Nigerian to do this. |

guysbewise:Not everyone will have the same path. I think a bit of luck was involved in Tenza's situation but that is the reality of life. I currently earn around 30k$ working from Naija. My close pal who recently left for the US, netted a job with Google 3 months after his arrival (low 6 figs comp). Life is not always linear for everyone. Some people are lucky enough that their skill fills a gap in that short period of time. |

tensazangetsu20:Appreciate the humility at the bold but when you say "divine intervention" what do you mean? |
| Re: Memoirs From Chile by tensazangetsu20(op): 10:34am On Feb 27, 2025 |
Raalsalghul:The way things happened for me here. It’s as if there was someone out there making things easy for me. I still remember how I got my first remote job and then how I eventually got my bank job. The way it happened made no logic. Sure I did my part for the interviews but still I think I had some sort of special grace. |

The op has done well for himself, but what I find wrong and wicked is that his posts are not the way to encourage others planning to japa as he is not telling others the whole story and for the op to say it was "divine intervention" is very misleading. I have been in developed countries now for decades and I have being working in tech in large organisations so I know the op is not telling the whole story here because there is no way he can get a bank job in Chile without a five years background check, this is a mandatory legal requirement for all banks in the developed countries and as an international student in Chile who have not been in Chile for five years, op would have to process this through the Nigerian Embassy in Chile and this can take 4 to 8 weeks or more. Op did not mention how he got past the very challenging process as an international student, so for op to say it was "divine intervention" is very misleading and such misleading stories have led to many to make very bad decisions and many have also been scammed like this one: Nigerians In UK Protest Against Rising Certificate Of Sponsorship Scams: https://www.nairaland.com/8350003/nigerians-uk-protest-against-rising True that some of those that japa through the student route are getting good jobs but what is wrong is not to give the full details of how they went about it and just say it was "divine intervention" thereby not helping those planning for japa to be well prepared. Only those that are evil and wicked and hate to tell the truth are the ones that will be angry with my post. |

Imagine believing everything you read from ChatGPT. There’s no Nigerian embassy in chile and Chile has no embassy in Nigeria. I didn’t need any background check to get my current job both in Chile and Nigeria. I did the interviews. The first was an initial recruiter screen. 2 technical interviews, a psychological interview and a final hr interview before I signed the offer letter. I was on probation for 3 months and in January, my contract was made permanent. |
| Re: Memoirs From Chile by Nobody: 1:33pm On Feb 27, 2025 |
This is not about ChatGPT. This is a regulatory requirment in developed countries if you want to work in the bank/financial and government sectors. In your posts below you said you are working in the bigest bank in the country, but the screenshot above says Salesforce. The reason I have posted what is required to be able to get a job in a bank is to help those planning to japa to be well informed and prepared if they are looking forward to getting a job in a bank. tensazangetsu20: tensazangetsu20: |
| Re: Memoirs From Chile by tensazangetsu20(op): 1:43pm On Feb 27, 2025 |
guysbewise:Men you are a fool lol . The screenshot shows my role which is a salesforce developer role. I particularly covered the name of the bank i work for. Bank in spanish is banco and here its always banco first and the name of the bank second. We have various banks here in Chile like Banco fallabela, banco santander etc. I work for the biggest of them all and I wont mention it. That app is what I use to mark attendance at work everyday. |
| Re: Memoirs From Chile by Nobody: 2:16pm On Feb 27, 2025 |
You are the BIGGEST FOOL AND A CLOWN. You have been deceiving the gullible ones here who have not had the chance to work in a bank/financial sector in a developed country before. From your posts and screenshots it shows that you are just making up your Chili sauce stories from Chile to fool the gullible ones. You have no clue about working in large organisations in the developed countries if you do you won't be posting all the crap you have been posting Yes Nigeria does not have an Embassy in Chile but Nigeria's diplomatic representation to Chile is managed through the Nigerian Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This will even make the process of completing a background check to work in a bank for an international student from Nigeria even more challenging. You are a BIG LIAR and you have exposed yourself to the whole world reading your posts that you are a liar. You said you had "4 years of software engineering experience before leaving Nigeria". But you also said when you "started learning programing here on Nairaland" then you said "Check my older post from 2020". So when did you arrive in Chile and from when to when did you gain "4 years of software engineering experience before leaving Nigeria"? tensazangetsu20: tensazangetsu20: |
