The minority provinces had been clamouring since 1953 to leave the yeast .They got a break through in the closing months of 1965 and had secured support from MPs from the north, western and Midwestern region to have their region created out of the yeast. The Federal House went on break for the New Year and was meant to convene in late January to address the matter for the creation of Calabar -Ogoja-Rivers region. That was when your Ibo officers working with strict instructions and orders from Zik and his minions in Enugu to eliminate all regional heads and the PM who had given their blessings and support to the creation of COR region.
