Fool

Don't comparing 2023 to 2025
Eagle360:
Using Petrol price as a guide, 500k is just 110k
The amount of petrol that 110k can get you before Tinubu take over is what 500k will get you now. Inflation and float of naira have spoil our money.

1litre = N187 500k will get you 2673Litres in 2023 to buy 2673 litres in 2025 you must have N2.3m

1litre= N860 500k will get you 581Litres in 2025, whereas 108k will get you 581litres in 2023.
Therefore 500k is not a big money

Yeah, 500k is still a big money in Nigeria.

Many Nigerians do not earn 500k per month.

The fact is that inflation is affecting your money.

Try to cut your coat according to your size.
Which size? According to his cloth jor.

Well, you might be right... But, such threads and posts abound all over social media.

They send the very wrong signals and give young people the wrong or false impression about success in life.
The best advice for up and coming is to just ignore and keep working hard. That's all I can say. No human being online can influence my offline decisions unless something REALLY positive like how to teach my little girl how to code and remember them more effectively or how to stay positive. It must be something really positive.

Not a huge amount.

That's worth just 2 original Nike Sneakers.

Nike sneakers are not a luxury, it's something you could buy for 50k or less, 10 years ago.

Now, you may be spending close to 300k for the same sneaker

That's how low we've fallen.

The Naira had been bastardized by hyper-inflation...

Although inflation has ERODED the value of money.

But if you go broke few DAYS after receiving #552k, the problem is YOU!
Oga If you have enough responsibilities/ running cost you will know 500k last few days.
Petrol, diesel, electricity units alone in a week will consume huge cut from that 500k.

Not since 2015, when we bought T-Pain’s rotten package of shege because we thought it was change.

How did APC leaders looters make this promised change into a change of promise huh

Emergingnation:
Flashback: How Bola Tinubu spoke highly of Buhari in 2015, named PDP ‘Poverty Development Party

National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu had during the presidential campaign in 2015, referred to President Muhammadu Buhari as the only solution for the security and economic challenges facing Nigeria.

During a mega presidential rally, the former governor of Lagos State recalled how some powerful nations in the world returned to army generals when they were challenged, saying “Major General Buhari would revive Nigeria’s economy”.

He named the current opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP as the “Poverty Development Party saying they had nothing to offer.

His words at the time were; “Every nation has a period of their own challenges, when America was challenged, they turned to one great man, their ex-military general, General Eisenhower. When the French were challenged, they turned to their general, Charles de Gaulle.

“When Britain was challenged, they turned to their general. Today, Nigeria is economically and physically challenged so we turn to General Muhammadu Buhari. He is the right man for the job. If you talk about military experience, he has it abundantly, he has courage, simplicity, he has it abundantly.

“If you talk about great determination, a combination of vision and ability to perform, honesty and integrity, he has it abundantly.

“I laugh when the incapable government, ‘Poverty Development Party’ PDP were talking. They have nothing again to say, they now want to question the qualifications of General Buhari and look for his certificate”.

Following the manifestos in 2015 which projected the APC presidential candidate as a ‘saviour’, Buhari defeated the then incumbent president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan with Nigerians expecting a total change in security and economy.

COMRADES are speechless, 500k? Yes it's; if you think I typed rubbish here, ask those who are earning 80k, how are they surviving
Oga I really wonder how they survive ohh without side runs. Speaking of 80k, someone I use earns that exact amount where he works, but he does side hustle with me ie freelance, he says without that no way he can survive. Week before last I paid him 55k, 60k, last week 13k, in the last 1 month close to 200k.
That I guess is how people on paltry earning but lucky enough to have side runs survive.

If you can't make ends meet on a monthly net income of 550k, then something is wrong somewhere, and you should look at your spending habits.

Even though we all know that things are tough in this country right now, our currency has depreciated, and products are typically quite expensive, you should still be able to successfully save at least 100k from a net salary of 550k.

Unless you adjust and learn to spend wisely, I don't even think you'll be able to manage or make ends meet with a net income of 2 million given your current spending patterns and level of financial literacy.
