There's no difference. Ironsi didn't run, Murtalla did not run. He assumed position, according to IBB OBJ wanted to run, but Danjuma pressured him to take over. So why did Ogundipe run? These guys are soldiers and not civilian political leaders.
Omds, Ironsi didn't run? How he wan take run? No be for him head they start they coup? E sure me die say if he knew about it beforehand and knew that no one was on his side, he for scamper.

Lol
Lookman won Europa
Vini won the league and ucl
Rodrigo won the league and nation cup
Rodrigo won the last ballon d'or and it was tagged controversial
What's the difference between uefa nation cup/afcon/Copa America/Gold cup/Asia cup
You are still making his point.

Without any glory in Europe, AFCON cannot give him an edge to Ballon D'or.

All your examples are still in Europe. Are you not seeing it? grin

At this point, I'm sure Sanwoolu just wants to complete his second term in peace and retire to private life. I mean look at how his principal just downgrade him by siding with Obasa and having police and other security agents doing Obasa's bidding. It's a show of shame.

It is just appalling that individuals can do as they like once they have the backing of the Tinubu-led FG

If u were to be a man who is well read , u would’ve come across one of Chinua Achebe’s quotes in Arrows of God :

It is praiseworthy to be brave and fearless, my son, but sometimes it is better to be a coward.
We often stand in the compound of a coward to point at the ruins where a brave man used to live

That article simply pointed out different military men who lost their lives trying to form actor when their junior officers executed military coups ; Needless to say Ironsi was one of those people who lost his life and even the Murtala u also claimed didn’t run also lost his life in a gruesome manner .

It appears as though u are not satisfied that Ogundipe didn’t waste his life trying to wrestle power from junior officers who had control of the armory as well as different military formations .

The fact that u are soldier does not mean that u should throw away ur life when the odds are not in ur favor

The same Achebe that worked under Ojukwu as a diplomatic envoy. Same Ojukwu who will rather fight than take order from Gowon.
Achebe will disagree with you here

How did Ojukwu's fight with Gowon end?

Didn't it lead to loss of lives on both sides? Did it not leave thousands of people who fought with Ojukwu dead?

That woman that was the former NDDC MD back then said she slapped Akpabio for making advances at her in his hotel. I won't be surprised if this Natasha own too has to do with Akpabio letting his diick think for him rather than his brain.

Hindsight is 20/20

One can also make another argument that if Ogundipe fought for his right. The war probably wouldn't have happened in the first place.

That's the reason why u should've read through that article to the end.

The author gave instances of senior officers that lost their lives simply because they were senior officers when their junior officers executed a coup.

I have that Ademoyega's book "Why we struck" , I read the book and saw through the line of reasoning of the first coupists in this country. The junior officers who planned the coup knew they had to take out the senior officers whom they referred to as "reactionary" . They believe if the senior officers are not taken out, the coup will fail and that was what happened.

You think Ogundipe is not intelligent enough to read the room that the second coupists will not make such mistake? Moreover, the second coup is a northern led coup that would not only take out the officers of Igbo origin but also Yoruba senior officers which Ogundipe was one of. In that same article u refused to read, it was stated that prior to Ogundipe declining to take charge; all the senior officers in the army bar himself and Wellington Bassey have all lost their lives to a bloody coup.

Excuses everywhere. Ironsi didn't run away from responsibility. Ogundipe ran away it's properly documented in IBB book. No excuse. They said he didn't have the nerves of a soldier.

No, he wasn't suicidal.

In the article u refused to read it was stated that After Murtala was taken out, Obasanjo had to go into hiding simply because he was marked for death as a senior officer by the coupists. It was only after Gen. Alani Akinrinade and Brig. Godwin Alabi-Isama had told off the coupists before Obasanjo came out of hiding to be appointed as the head of state by the supreme military council.

If we are following ur logic, Obsanjo was a coward but then he lived long enough to be celebrated as one of the best leaders Nigeria ever had. He still lives today because of an act u wish to label as "cowardice". That was what Chinua Achebe meant in that proverb.

Ironsi that didn't run away, we all knew how things ended for him.
