The next time I saw that woman again was in a music video by Kollington abi na Wasiu. This was back in the 80s/90s. While the man tried to be a good father to the kids, those kids suffered. I'm a millennial and I 100% endorse this move. Leave their children for them! No be only woman born pikin, why must she be the one to be saddled with the stress of singlehandedly raising kids coupled with the stigma of being called a single mother or divorcee? One in my area recently left her extremely abusive marriage without her kids. Went as far as ditching her sim so she won't be reachable by her husband and his people. She told someone that was finally able to speak with her through her dad that for the first time in 10 years, she finally has peace of mind. No more sleeping and waking up with anxiety, no more walking on eggshells. When asked if she'll come and pick her kids once she stands on her feet, she was like for where? Are they bearing her name or his name? I said better! The children will locate her when they grow up. Weray husband don lean finish, not like he's the one taking care of the children, he has since taken them to his sister. Nobody even pities him including the useless men that justify domestic violence.

Same women will gladly accept those kids if it happened in the UK or US or Australia. Difference is society and system.

I find it funny when nigerians guys are fuming about the child support law. I love and support that law. If you can impregnate a girl, you should be able to atleast father the child for 18 years.

I think Cococa.ndy mentioned it and I found it right. Leave the children with the man. One of the reasons men can easily walk away from a marriage is because they don't have to go with the children as well. So, as a woman, leave the child or children with him, and as with most Nigerian men or even most men regardless of ethnicity or race, they cannot adequately take care of children. You know how single mothers are seen in Nigeria, so leave the children with him.

It's one of the reasons I'm surprised when people criticise sit-at-home moms. Taking care of children is a tiresome and largely thankless job. Na the unfortunate global economy wey necessitate two working couples made SAHMs look awkward.

Yet another reason you as a woman should have fewer children. Also, the reason I always emphasise that if you don't want her to be the mother of your children, don't get her pregnant. Use condom!

women will always get custody of their kids except the ones that doesn't want it. Also, children love and take care of their mother more than their father. The best is to live together in love and harmony to raise the kids
