Sorry for the late response. I have been busy. It depends on what is causing the tinnitus. Also if you have headaches and tinnitus it is worth assessing/investigating for more sinister causes rather than attributing it to just a benign headache.



Meniere’s Disease, Noise induced hearing loss, Ear wax, Brain tumors, inner ear tumors, TMJ dysfunction, stress, vascular disease etc.

As a baseline I would suggest a comprehensive hearing test and also likely some imaging (especially if the tinnitus is unilateral).

A doctor assessed my ear with otoscope and said it's clear. She prescribed some pills after I told her how it started. Personally, I think it's TMJ from what I read. Cos it all started with painful swallowing, under the chin pain, feeling of fullness in one ear and headache. Also, that part of my ear from jaw to neckline is tender but has improved since taking pills. I just worry about the noise.

If it persists you should go and see an audiologist and carry out a hearing test. An otoscope alone can’t fully assess tinnitus.
