I was a mechanic for a while in Nigeria and even took some driving lessons, but I never took it seriously because I never expected to own a car in my life. Back then, I could have bought a car with my tech job, but I didn’t want to. All I could think about was how to escape Nigeria.

Life is funny. I remember going to the gym in Nigeria where the guys with 2009 Lexus and co. were the ones women flocked around. Meanwhile, those of us without a car? Nobody even looked our way.

You can get a good job in Chile as you went there to do a masters in a data science field which is fine, but not telling the truth about starting work in the biggest bank and getting angry because I'm exposing this, is the issue here, as you are misleading others wanting to embark on the same journey.

The truth is that you cannot start work in a bank in Chile or any other developed country without a background check which takes about two weeks for those in the country for five years or more. Whether you applied through an agency or directly with the bank it's a regulatory requirement that they must do a 5 year background check on a new starter and as you have not been in Chile for 5 years you did not mention how you went about this.

Starting work in a bank in Chile or any other developed country is not like starting in a POS back home.

So if others are planning to japa to Cheli to do their masters and wants to work in a bank, they should be aware of this to get them self prepared.
