Supreme Court Has Ended Impunity In Rivers, Says Wike by Lifestylecom(op): 5:29pm On Feb 28, 2025

The Supreme Court ruling on the crisis rocking the Rivers State House of Assembly has ended impunity in the oil-rich state, FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, said on Friday.

The apex court in its ruling on Friday, barred the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Accountant General of the Federation and other agencies from releasing funds to the government of Rivers State until it purges itself of what the court describes as flagrant disobedience to court orders.

The five-man panel of the court unanimously dismissed the cross-appeal filed by Governor Siminalayi Fubara challenging the validity of the House of Assembly presided over by Martin Amaewhule as the Speaker.

The Supreme Court also nullified the recent local government elections the state, declaring the election invalid for grossly violating the Electoral Act.

Nigerian democracy is being tossed like a coin by undemocratic felons, from Rivers to Lagos to Osun, they law enforcement and they judiciary are helpless or possible lack the will power to do what is right or enforce the laws holistically as their paymasters detect their work ethics.. It's time for citizens full and holistic participation in governance, there is a complete lack of confidence in our institutions as they are compromised. They people must wake up to defend themselves and enforce all lawful principles known to mankind as those incharge have failed woefully. If they people refuse to wake up and defend what is right and kick against what is wrong, then they people will die one by one as their oppressors found no resistance and they will continue to suffocate them. Wake up Nigerian to your democratic responsibility by defending and enforcing your freedom.
