Wao! That's a scary lot of money.

They used to be the biggest financial institution in the world few years ago. Am not sure if they are still occupying that position.

I went to their branch at Oba Akran, Ikeja, some years back to open an account, and they declined my application. I asked one of their employees, and he signaled something like salary range.

If you weren't earning like 800k per month or so, and they'll check your employers' profile too. Becoz I was not owing any bank.

I used to see them at Chevron offices, Exxon and P&G etc. Those guys are not desperate at all. Very selective and they basically deal accounts of multinationals.

I went to deposit $17,000 to a bank in Lagos here last week, they credited $170,000. I had to point it out to them through the alerts before they corrected it. They told me they would have found out anyway.

Whoever wrote this does not know the meaning of trillion. And trillion in US dollars for that matter.

Must be a fake news, or the figure is exaggerated. I don't believe there is any bank in the world that has that type of money even as a total value of customers' deposit or total asset not to talk of mistakenly sending the trillions into an individual's account.

The earlier you realize that banks can just print digital money they don't have in the vault and send to your account the better. Banks apart of the Federal Reserve can also create money digitally. This is what they loan to you and i and we pay back with interest(real money).

The money you see in your account does not exist. It is just a number. Anyone with access can increase that number to any amount.

Banking is mainly about balancing books. It is not about the actual money. What they say you have is what you have. It's a dangerous business

The networth of a bank and customers money in the bank are two different things, I thought that was common knowledge.
A bank can be worth $1b and have customer deposit of $100b the money belongs to the customers, it doesn't belong to the bank.

In Nigeria, it's not possible to mistakenly make a successful transfer of an amount greater than what the Bank has for settlement. The transaction will most certainly fail.
