I want the war in Ukraine to be over but I don’t think this ambush of Zelenskyy is the way to do it. It is so undignified to treat allies this way.

Granted Russia was the initial aggressor but it was not without provocation. No country should allow themselves to be used by another to get into a war they cannot win. US will never allow Russia to set up a base in any neighbouring country.

The U.S. has zero ownership of Ukrainian resources as of now. The $113B in U.S. aid? Mostly weapons and loans, not mineral rights. Meanwhile, Russia’s “land grab” has cost it $billions in sanctions and thousands of casualties.

Ukrainians are distinct, not Russians. Maybe tell that to the 92% of Ukrainians who voted for independence in 1991, or the 100+ countries recognizing Kyiv’s sovereignty.
