Kobojunkie: Says who(enforcement) The reason they continue to get away with it has to do with general ignorance of the details of the law by their constituency.we still saying the same thing They believe it's their birthright We (voters and legislators) believe it's their birthright(at least we acquiesce) It is their birthright till we (enlightened minority) challenge them |

EmeeNaka:What you don't know is that requesting for more states cannot solve our problem. If a state is created in the south East today, three or four will be created in the north and two in the south west. It is still the same. |

This one is still living in the past. ![]() The states bring governance closer to the people. We have terrible governors that's why it seems like the states thing is not working. |

They are not viable only because they are FG allocation sharing communities and are not looking at how to add value to what God has given them freely. They also need to know how to work collaboratively with other Governors and draw on each others experience and expertise. One of the criteria for whether a governor gets to come back or be a Senator has to be what they have done to grow their internally generated income and what they have done with the money. We need to start to make governors accountable. |

This is nothing but the truth,if at all we can't go back to pre 1966 status we should at least reduce the numbers of states we have now to a manageable number like former 12 states but still maintain the number of local governments we have now. North-Western State, North-Eastern state, Kano State, North-Central State, Benue-Plateau State, Kwara State, Western State, Lagos State, Mid-Western State, Rivers State,South-Eastern State, and East-Central State. |

It can never be right to say a state with even five hundred thousand people is not viable. They have enough income earners to be viable. The onus lies on the government to make it viable by generating IGR. |
