The purpose of the banding is to avoid increasing the tariff to the same rate for everybody at the same time. It is a divide-and-rule strategy to prevent protests against electricity distribution companies. |

Since Tinubu came to power, A lot of Nigerians can no longer afford electricity. People can't afford air-conditioning Driving a car has been put above the reach of the average Nigerian. Travelling for vacations, occasions and visitation is no longer affordable. Three square meals now a luxury. The problem is, not that the government is incompetent. Tinubu government is just like armed robbers who take what belongs to you for themselves without empathy, and will kill you if you resist. Make nothing mistakenly happen to Tinubu sha else his family will be traumatized on how Nigerians will jubilate. |

Funny, AEDC shot itself in the foot the moment it introduced the banding system. 90% of the people in band A are migrating to solar because it makes no sense paying above a million Naira per month for epileptic power supply.. Now the money they thought they will make, they are not making it. Now they want to migrate people in band B and C. They know these people cannot afford to buy solar. Until we all fight to be metered, all these nonsense will continue. In some countries, power is expensive during the day and very cheap at night to encourage people to use it, that way it ensures grid stability. Here we are increasing tariff without increasing service delivery or adding new infrastructure. |

Labour knows the frauds from the govt, but still does almost nothing . I expected them to down tools with the telecom price hikes, they only threatened and nothing meaningful happened. Govt claimed fall in naira was the reason for these hikes in every sector, naira is improving but the hikes continues ![]() |

When will customers stop buying transformers, cables, poles, other power accessories and still paying for power officials to install these, despite paying bills? We just contributed 10k each to replace armoured cables in my area, yet we pay bills ![]() |

This is the kind of exploitation that the NLC should have focused their fights on. Petrol pricing reduction, naira valuation, telecoms billing, bank's charges etc. Those are the areas a serious NLC should have continuously fought the govt, instead of just salary increase that has further hiked inflation and more taxes. |
