Which law are you quoting? INEC only provides voters register. Al state RECs conduct LG elections. INEC has no business with it.

Same applied to Osun, Kaduna and others in the last few months.

Oga, what you put out here is either a Photoshop or another case entirely. Last year, this same matter went to court and it was affirmed that tenure elongation of the LG chairmen is illegal. Not even to mention that these guys tenures were already elongated before Fubara came in.

You are right but there is no where in Constitution that PS should take over the local government administration but a Tenure elongation is there . It is now left to the state House of Assembly to deside elongation of the former elected poeple till when to conduct fresh election in the state ,once the supreme had declared the resent conducted election as illegal .

That clueless neophyte doesn't know anything. He created this problem when he stopped RSIEC from conducting the election at the appropriate time. Nothing in his head, but he always tries to outsmart his shadow. Surrounded with empty vessels too.

You people should know when to use your break pedal.
See don’t pray they start impeachment process, Fubara will be tossed out like a charf, what he has as supporters are not yet rooted.

It is people with this mentality that pushed him to this, if he has played a nice card he would have gotten the majority or half of the legislature on his side, but because he has people with shallow knowledge, greed and anger issues as advisers he made a grave mistake.
Most of his supporters are just there to grab whatever they can.

Lawyers are the major problems of this country when it comes to legal issues interpretation within the politics of Nigeria.

Nevertheless........
The Constitution and laws of the FRN supercedes every State constitution and laws. In fact each States' constitution and law takes form and order from that of the FRN which is often times amended by the Federal Legislative House( NA).
Now, the States' Assembly can go ahead and do whatever they like but if their laws falls contrary to that of the FRN and it is brought before a competent court of law and jurisdiction, the States' law is rendered null.and void and that of the FRN takes precedence.
That is what the judge at any point in time will give as verdict.

With respect to tenure elongation of the LGC chairmen, that which the RSA Speaker did us alien to the Constitution of the FRN and it will not stand. Gov. Fubara does not need to even bother himself about that. The former chairmen tenures have expired and they can't be brought back. That amendment of the law by the RSA is a futile work as long as the construction of the FRN regarding LGCA remains the way it is.
That which Speaker Ahmaewule and his co travellers did is a waste in the bin.
