Sure, why not? Egusi is a standard sauce for white rice. I'd advise you fry it. I'm not a fan of the normal stew anyway, so it's usually either afo okwu, egg-tomato sauce or egusi soup/stew.

Egusi and rice is not a regular option nau.....na when stew no dey but Egusi soup dey. Now that I think of it,I wonder why it's not a voluntary combo....its usually involuntary caused by stew outage

When I used to eat rice ..I eat it with okra( ila alasepo ) soup or ewedu soup prepared with smoked mackerel.....
But I have stopped eating rice.
