Pearl1910:All these talk EV is DOA .........The USA that has more steady electricity than Nigeria ,is yet to fully embrace EV because the infrastructure is not there yet.,... And na Nigeria wan go into EV . Your government can barely provide 24hrs electricity. Thereby putting the cart before the 🐴........ Hybrid cars now that can both run on electric and gas is more acceptable now plus hybrid that runs on battery and gas is currently. These are more acceptable for now until EV technology is as good and fast as pumping fuel at station......... Nigeria mechanics that can barely fix fuel power cars or hybrid cars with batteries na them wan repair EV cars .......... And 99% of EV cars imported into Nigeria will not even pass international safety test. Nigeria will now become a dumping ground For now make you na manage internal combustion engine cars. After all Dangote didn't built his $20 billion refinery to collect dust . And plus he has been reducing petrol prices down And most importantly all those charging stations in Lagos and outside las las na vandalism go close that chapter... I come in Peace....

Kewtt:Floods don't affect EVs for some reason |

XGhost:Electric vehicles (EVs) can be damaged by flooding, and they can catch fire if submerged. It's best to avoid driving through floodwaters, and to move EVs to higher ground if flooding is expected Battery damage Water can damage battery cells, which can lead to short circuits or reduced performance. Electrical damage Water can damage wiring, connectors, and control units, which can cause malfunctions and corrosion. Fire Prolonged or deep immersion in water can lead to thermal runaway, which is an uncontrollable increase in temperature that can cause a fire. What did you say again? |

Kewtt:Have you seen the battery of an EV before? It is even safely protected and guarded than our fuel powered cars. You cannot be critiquing EVs in Nigeria and talking about floods. Lol. He would be driving an EV, and would definitely be careful. |

dru23:U can charge ur EV in ur house. Naija no too bad as u think again. Some people are on Band A with up to 20hrs light daily. Many people have solar inverters installed at home now. If u choose to buy an EV then it's only wise to make a way to charge ur vehicle. The fast charge system is also cheap to install. And even if u have to set up a solar powered charging system, it's worth the investment. The only challenge is that repairs will be pricey, but the repairs are very very few and can be non-existent. Let me remind u again, there is nothing in the hood for mechanic to fix in an EV. What will take u to mechanic is suspension parts and panel beater for body. The problem Hybrid has is not present in EV because that combustion part is absent. EVs are a major upgrade on hybrids, think of it like Nokia phones and Android. Or Android OS 3 and Android OS 13. Ur hybrid car can't drive from mainland to Island (20km) solely on batteries but EVs are designed to run for hundreds of kilometers, so don't compare them. Although, Hybrids are good on their own and I will still recommend them for commercial use any day, when the problems come I will find d solution to it. What must sha change is this huge cost of fueling everyday. If u really sit down and begin to imagine how huge this is, u will also adopt it. I remember when we moved from contact set to injector this was still d excuse for adoption to change. Where will u see mechanic that will fix injector? When automatic flooded the market, where will u see mechanic that will fix automatic gear. How will u push ur car and start when battery die... Many many excuses. Whether u change or not, people are changing and finding solutions to their problems as they come up. The most important thing is d reason for the change : is it for efficiency, is it for better, is it for ease, is it for cheaper... If the reason is genuine and true then water will find its level. The fact is that the cost of managing it is cheaper than the cost of not having it. Unless someone can invalidate this, then no excuse is tenable. |

Kewtt:The flood that will damage an EV will certainly damage a combustion engine. Bring another excuse. |

Pearl1910:I think an EV would do better for Interstate travels... Something like Lagos to Benin, or routes with good roads and less than 400 miles. |

izzou:Well tbh EV no send traffic, highway, within town or interstate. Provided u can charge the battery anywhere u find urself. It's better u stay within where u can easily charge it. Being ur home or a public charging point. So it's better to propose it for taxi within a state or close interstates of 75% distance (to & from) of your battery range rather than interstate which u will need to recharge before coming back. Lagos to Benin is 300km meaning u can't do to and fro without charging it |

I don’t think flood can damage a EVs, except the car completely submerge, and stayed for a long time, it will affect the safety protective units. |
