Crude oil price at the international market has been falling in recent days and weeks. Good news - Dangote and other refineries will probably reduce petrol price again within the next 2 - 3 weeks. Bad news - Naira will start falling (slowly) because falling crude oil price means Nigeria's crude related earnings will fall. The United States economy is also weakning and may go into recession. A weakened US economy combined with warmer weather in the US and Europe will likely mean less demand for crude and continuing reduction in crude oil prices in the coming weeks and months. If crude oil price hits $65 per barrel, petrol prices in Nigeria could fall to around N750 per litre. But naira may fall to around N1600. Hmm 3 Likes |
