I noticed that this red light comes on my Toyota Corolla(Bank Type) once the temperature gauge gets to centre of the gauge especially when iam in traffic but once i rev, it disappears and also when i leave traffic and the temperature gauge drops below the centre, it disappears.

Please what could be the issue?.

A quick update on this issue. After so much back and forth of repairs with no permanent solution, iam thinking of replacing the engine completely. Please does anybody know the price range for a complete engine for Toyota Corolla(Bank Type)?.

A quick update on this issue. After so much back and forth of repairs with no permanent solution, iam thinking of replacing the engine completely. Please does anybody know the price range for a complete engine for Toyota Corolla(Bank Type)?.

That light showing is caused by worn-out main bearings (aka metals) and or worn-out crankshaft.
You can either replace both crankshaft and bearings (metals) if the crankshaft is way out of spec or get a good machinists to measure and cut the crankshaft to an acceptable size and get it's corresponding bearings for it.
That should fix your problem.
While at it, try and thoroughly clean sludge off all oil passages and inspect the oil pump.

Before you take the car to quacks,when u buy the new engine or b4 u buy the new engine. Forget bench test bullshit, tell the seller to open the spark plug,he should bring 1 spark plug out and u inspect,inspect the exhaust holes if they are dirty black or tan brown. Tan brown good sign,dirty black,burning oil..make dem no go sell dead engine give u.ladipo boys are evil.im talking to u corolla bank type users. Don't rush to mount engine ,do engine flush first be4 mounting toks and change all plugs first. Keep the follow come at home. Remember a toks engine and not changed engine oil is almost the same. Sludged down engines that won't show on dipstick at cold test.thats a babanla dead engine

I have spoken to somebody that the mechanic bought engine for about two years ago and he confirmed that he has had rest of mind since then and he uses his own Toyota Corolla for Uber.

That was then,not now. 2 years is a very long time. Tho its a 20,/80 thing. Most are refurbished to toks standard.

Nah.just minus 300k from whatever price they gove to u.drag it with them. Check all the engine if everything is complete aside hose.just pray....

You really sabi the game wella. Another mechanic i called gave me a price that is N400k above what my regular mechanic gave me.

My best take ,close eye sell am,buy any toks car,even if na 300k remain after sales to buy toks car,with complete ac.alaye man up,buy am. Mechanics are not worrh it. A tokunbo car is better than a tokunbo engine or nigerian car.any day,any time

Iam going for the engine. Everything is a risk. That is why iam asking for price range in order to do a comparison.

If you buy a direct used car from Europe or America, it is serviced yearly, so your car will be in good condition, Unless you are one of those who believe in tropicalization.

Unless the engine has other issues you didn't state.

Good evening, yes I still have it, we remounted it back after the new one failed, in that case I have to bring it down again before going for the new one .

What was wrong with the OLD one? was it a mechanical fault? i.e. something broken or a fault you can physically see?

I think a compression test would be a life saver as a direct used Engine from abroad would almost have regular service, however if there is any leak, it will show up when you do compression test.

This is a very bold claim and you should know better sir.
There are thousands of videos online that does not support this claim.

The car jeck when it slows down as the gear begin to disengage to lower gear sometimes when it's slows down for road bumb , I've changed all the solenoids , transmission fluid even the ECU yet it didn't correct, i then opt for a complete replacement.
The jacking will sound as if another car hit mine car from the rear and honestly it's embarrassing.

Let me shoke you, there was a law passed i n the Uk if your car was made from 2014,by your car displaying a check Engine light on the dashboard your car will f ail MOT and MOT is mandatory by law yearly.

What has check engine light got to do with frequent and up to date oil change?
There are several “Tokunbo” car's that come in with sludge and other issues, and there are more dead engines in Ladipo and other parts market now than ever.
You sir should know this better.
The fact that the product has a Tokunbo tag on it does not mean it's perfect.

So you dont know sludge will set ur Engine light on?.slugde will make ur oil monitor set ur Engine light on.if you are buying a car from Asia ie singerpore u are in your own.but Europe and America YES..Service of a car is not limited to Oil change.Its a general check even includes suspension. Cracks on glass and light bulbs.if they all not in good nick u fail.This is why you should spend a small sum to do vehicle history. Checks.
I'm well informed in the used car importation. Ladipo people buying dead cars in Nigeria bu5cher them and sell the parts as direct Belgium. The reason I will only buy non moving parts as replacement. Moving parts brand new..

The absence of a check engine light does not mean an engine was well maintained.

There are lots of dead engines without check engine light.

Toks cars have been imported into this country with dead engines which "ran" on videos posted by auction companies.

There is no guarantee.

I've seen comatose engines in this country without check engine light and very sound engines in vehicles which had numerous lights on their dash.
