1. Offerings like four times in a single service 2. Pastor support 3. Building support 4. Welfare support 5. Contribution for upcoming events 6. Evangelism support 7. Thanksgiving 8. Tithe All these in a single Sunday! As a member in the church does anyone know whether I have eaten or not? Do they know if I have food in the house. Don't I have responsibilities outside church? Churches are involved in so many things that is taking a financial toll on members that always make them groan silently but they always keep it to themselves because they are always told they're doing it for God or that they will go to heaven. Gideonski:offerings and tithes na him dey spoil our dear christianity, i think it should be scraped… even though it’s not by force but you’ll surely feel oppressed when everyone stands up to give and you’re all left sitting. All churches should have a box for offerings anytime or everytime one wants to give or donations; and not introducing it during service. I hate when people criticize churches or priests just for clout. Something they wont try with Islam. Church contribution is not a debt and you dont have to give if you don't have. However, churches like any other gathering or organisation needs money to run. All those seats, ACs, renovations, outreaches you see in most ministries are acquired or done with money. Same as all the philanthropic gestures of churches. You expect to sit in church with nice chairs, melodic microphones and sound system, good lighting. But somehow you think these things were not bought with money. Or perhaps with the pastors money?? 4 Likes |
