You guys will never share updates that other Nigerians can benefit from. It is only when there is an issue that you lots would come out of your shell.. Anyway, you can fly back to Nigeria with your expired passport without paying or bribing anyone... |

sultaan:Just manage do business with them once in a long while and rest. We your fellow country men back here in Nigeria encounter such stress every damn day. Flying back to Nigeria may even pose a more serious issue for you. If you really want something to change, pack your bag, come home and lead the fight. Though even if you come back and lead the fight, 3yrs maximum, you will realise you don't have option than to allow the demon to continue to possess Nigeria |

When my Nigerian passport expired, I had an emergency travel document (ETD) from the Atlanta consulate for about $150. It was ready same day. I flew to Nigeria and no one looked at the ETD at the Lagos airport, they simply stamped my expired passport. It was in Lagos I simply renewed my passport after getting an NIN there.so you shouldn't have a problem unless something has changed. |

sultaan:Are you not aware of trump's new immigration law? If you are having the US passport, do not risk travelling with Nigeria passport.. |

sultaan:you better ask the airline IF they will allow you fly with an expired naija passport before you buy that ticket - I had this same issue in California some years back and I was denied boarding by Luftansa - please please please- ask ahead of time and possible let them send u an email to confirm IF they told you u can fly with expired passport - that will ensure IF there is any flight denial at the airport - at least the airline will reimburse you adequately IF they see you have Proof they told you you can fly with expired naija passport NIGERIA IS A DISGRACE - EVERYONE WORKING AT NAIJA EMBASSY IN ATLANTA WANTS TO RIP YOU OFF - ![]() |

sultaan:"there is a tent outside full of people/families, and it all looks like refugees trying to get passport or Visa walking between consulate and 8050 building." Refugee conditions like this for Nigerians de sweet Nigeria's officials like sugar. Extortion of the citizen refugees and taking cheap women to sleep with among the citizen refugees, is easier this way for the Nigerian officials. |

Nigeria consulates all over Europe are the only places you can see people crowded outside under rain or sunshine. Europeans watching the scenes spit over Nigeria's backwardess. Even if a saint is placed at the Consulate to man it, Nigeria's factor will creep in later to return the consulate to sufferhead situation. |

bigseank:Can you explain this further? He has a US passport (assuming), if this is true..can’t he enter the US back with his US passport? Does he need his Nigerian passport to leave Nigeria again? |
You should be able to fly to your country with an expired passport. But call your airline first to grant you that exception first
There's not need to call anyone to explain. He's at liberty to enter Nigeria with an expired Passport.. 💯 He however would have to renew the Passport with NIN to leave . It's a shame that our Consulates abroad keep bringing shame to the country..I've been hearing about the shoddy way they operate for years.. Dunno what the ministry of foreign affairs is doing about it |

sultaan:You may enter Nigeria with your expired Nigeria passport, but make sure to depart the US with your US passport if you are a dual citizen. May I also suggest that you already apply for a replacement passport at the Nigeria immigration portal, and also book a bio-data capture date. In the likely event that you are not currently equipped with all the paperwork required in the process, it will be advisable to start that process as soon as you arrive in the country depending on how long your intended stay may be. I did as suggested above, and walked away with a new passport in less than an hour of my arrival at the Nigeria immigration office in Nigeria. Good luck. |

sultaan:Be very careful to crosscheck the advice you get on this forum before you land yourself in a situation you'll regret. Now while it is true that Nigerian Immigration will allow you into the country with an expired passport, some airlines will deny you boarding from your place of departure. Always check with the airline before booking first. Take this from someone who has seen it happen with his own eyes |

sultaan:Ok i was in the same situation few months ago too. From Toronto. 1, Make sure you have your expired Nigeria passport. 2, Before buying your ticket, check the airline first, Most airline will allow you to board with expored Nigeria passport, some may give you hard time (i flew with egyptian, the counter person had to check with supervisor first, i believe the guy was new). 3, You can do and get your new 10 years passport in Nigeria in less than a week for about $150usd(had a connect in ilesa that made it possible) Get it 2hrs after capturing. |

sultaan:/ Nigerian end is not the problem. Before anything, drive to the airport and talk to the airline staff at the ticketing counter to ensure that they will let you board with expired Nigerian passport. They will give you the current and updated information. Any other information you get may not be very reliable. / |

sultaan:Yes you can I did same last year and even this year, I applied to get a new passport in Nigeria online total cost N50k and N2k processing, Passport was not ready on time and I travel back to the Uk with same expired passport plus my British passport. All I had to prove was that I paid for a new passport to return back to the UK.So when I travel next it would have been issued or if the portal shows printed and ready to issue I can give someone power of collection in a way of writing to go and pick it up and DHL it to me in the UK, That was what I was told at passport office PHC. Rivers State.YOu do not even need a middle MAN. |
