Because the South East kids have the highest IQ in Nigeria, the statistical academic metrics per national exams over the past years have already proven this. Igboland can literally fight another brutal war right now with all the socio-economic devastation and still outperform the rest of Nigeria academically. It's a natural grace and inclination that has been a blessing and curse for Igbos in Nigeria. |

Gajagojo:No, the demand is high because most educated parents wants their kids to attend unity schools, if they can help it. Unity schools are a federal govt initiative so obviously the FG is also involved in basic education. If they didn't, they wouldn't have created unity schools. The aim of the unity schools should be to educate as many deserving Nigerian students as possible, so the places with more brilliant and willing students should have more unity schools to educate as many as possible. Anything else, and it defeats the purpose of creating the schools in the first place. |

richie240:You have captured the Ndigbo conundrum perfectly, how they think they can bully other Nigerians amazes me, an impossibility. I actually disagree about them liking the South South though you used the word manageable. Edo, Rivers and Delta have all now become their enemies because of their bullying ways. How is such a simple concept so difficult to grasp, be nice to people and they might help you get to where you want to. Having interacted regularly with Ndigbo in real life, some of whom are/were Obidients, it is clear that the ones posting on here are the empty barrels making the most noise types. |

Gajagojo:Since the reason 'Iboes' score more in the school entrance exams is due to their greed, what is your reason for the core northern states scoring very low and requiring as low as just 2 or 4 marks to gain admission into secondary schools? |

Gajagojo:Everyone deserves fair opportunities, and discussing standards in education is about improving the system for all, not about resentment. A strong nation is built on fairness and quality education everywhere, not just in some places. Let’s focus on solutions, not stereotypes." |
| Re: Is It Fair To Give Igbo Children The Highest Cutoff Marks?? by nnamdi640: 6:50am On Mar 07, 2025 |
Paraman:If the admission system truly serves everyone fairly, there wouldn’t be so much debate around it. Quality education should be accessible to all, not just those who fit into a specific ‘purpose.’ A strong system evolves to meet the needs of all its citizens, not just a select group. |
| Re: Is It Fair To Give Igbo Children The Highest Cutoff Marks?? by nnamdi640: 6:54am On Mar 07, 2025 |
Gajagojo:If Unity Schools were never about merit, then why conduct entrance exams at all? While the original intent may have included diversity and inclusivity, shouldn’t we also prioritize academic excellence? The federal government has a role in fostering national unity through education, and improving the system to ensure fairness benefits everyone, not just a select group |

nnamdi640:You see when one deals with Ignorant OMATA illiterates like you one has to put up with all manner of ignorant nonsense The Unity schools have quotas as follows National Merit State Quota again on Merit For the Host State State Quota for each state Environmental Quota on Merit For the Neighbouring States Disabled , Orphans and other Disadvantaged groups Children of Diplomats and other officials serving abroad Discretionary admissions The segment for state quota for each state is the one that has a different cut off mark. What is so difficult for a normal human being to grasp about that |

Some illiterate fooks continue parroting Iboes are scoring more . Where is the evidence for that Let me do a simple analysis for you SE have 5 states . 20% less that other zones and 40% lesss than the NW So examine thes scenarios In a given year with the same scores and the same number of applicants The SE has 2 states instead of 5 The SE has 10 state instead of 5 What would happen to the Cut off marks In the first it would go up and in the second it would go down Without any change in what the applicants are scoring That should explain that it is not about scoring higher than anyone but having fewer slots because they have fewer states One assumes also that there are large number of applicants from the SE living outside the SE relative to others So in summarry higher cut off simply means higher demand relative to others it is no prove whatsover that Iboes score more than anyone Simple analysis way beyond what an OMATA mind fuelled by Akpu overdose can grasp |

nnamdi640:Fairness in a UNITY school means there must be quotas The Iboes are greedy Their state governments which are responsible for secondary education are failing then and they want to corner all the slots in the Unity schools That is not fair |
| Re: Is It Fair To Give Igbo Children The Highest Cutoff Marks?? by Gajagojo: 7:31am On Mar 07, 2025 |
Yujin:Iboes do not score more They have higher cut off marks because they seek to have more slots than their quota which is greed The Iboes have Higher demand not higher scores In the same year if the SE was given 2 more states the cut off off would be lower If the SE was reduced to 3 states the cut offf would be higher . It does not mean they scored lower or higher It is just demand and supply That is too complex for an OMATA brain |
| Re: Is It Fair To Give Igbo Children The Highest Cutoff Marks?? by Gajagojo: 7:32am On Mar 07, 2025 |
CSTRR:The Federal government is not responsible for secondary school education The unity schools are not intended to fill gaps of failing state governments The aim is not what you and other greedy ignorant Iboes say it should be Also you are misrepresenting reality There are different quotas National Merit The cut off is the same for every one State quota every state has their own quota the cut off varies from state to state This is the one generating all the bitterness Environmental quota for the Host and neighbouring states Disabled and other disadvantaged groups Even Foreign students have slots Children of diplomats and other officials serving abroad |

| Re: Is It Fair To Give Igbo Children The Highest Cutoff Marks?? by nnamdi640: 8:09am On Mar 07, 2025 |
Gajagojo:Fairness means equal opportunities based on merit, not quotas that favor some while limiting others. If Unity Schools are meant to unite, then they should embrace competition and excellence, not exclusion. Blaming one group instead of focusing on improving the education system for all is not the way forward. |
| Re: Is It Fair To Give Igbo Children The Highest Cutoff Marks?? by nnamdi640: 8:12am On Mar 07, 2025 |
Gajagojo:Resorting to insults doesn’t strengthen your argument. The issue isn’t about misunderstanding the quota system but about questioning whether it truly promotes fairness and excellence. If Unity Schools aim to unite, shouldn't merit be the priority rather than lowering standards for some while raising them for others? |
| Re: Is It Fair To Give Igbo Children The Highest Cutoff Marks?? by Gajagojo: 8:20am On Mar 07, 2025 |
nnamdi640:I did not insult you and so if you have nothing sensible to say Shut up and Bleep off Framing a question in terms of Iboes is not questioning whether it promotes fairmess What do you mean by merit? If suddenly the SE has 15 states what would happen to the cut off? If it had 2 states what would happen At best you could argue the SE should have more states which is a totally different argument to merit How can you determine whether a cut off as a single factor is "MERIT" With respect you deserve to be insulted because you are clueless and talking rubbish Do you know how the system works? There is a quota for National Merit . Same cut off for everyone There is a quota for the Host State and its neighbours There is a quota for each state. THIS IS THE ONE generating all the noise There is a quota for disabled and other disadvantaged groups There is a quota for foreigners There is a quota for government officials serving abroad and discretionary admission The one quota where each state has a look in . You are so bitter and toxic about Is the Federal government responsible for secondary education? |
| Re: Is It Fair To Give Igbo Children The Highest Cutoff Marks?? by nnamdi640: 8:25am On Mar 07, 2025 |
Gajagojo:Resorting to insults only distracts from the real discussion. The question is not about bitterness but about fairness. If a system is truly just, it should not generate this much controversy. The goal should be to ensure that every child, regardless of their state of origin, has an equal opportunity to succeed based on their ability—not predetermined quotas. Shouldn’t we aim for a system that rewards excellence while still supporting the disadvantaged? |
| Re: Is It Fair To Give Igbo Children The Highest Cutoff Marks?? by Gajagojo: 8:27am On Mar 07, 2025 |
nnamdi640:Why should there be competition for getting education? a right of children? Those who cannot compete should not be educated or what should happen to them ![]() Where else in the world do you have such "competitions"? Is there competition for getting a bed in a hospital? Should there be? |
| Re: Is It Fair To Give Igbo Children The Highest Cutoff Marks?? by nnamdi640: 8:34am On Mar 07, 2025 |
Gajagojo:Education is a right, but when resources are limited, fair access becomes crucial. The goal should be to expand quality education for all, not lower standards to fit quotas. Many countries have entrance exams for specialized schools or competitive institutions—it’s not about denying education but ensuring excellence while also supporting those who need extra help. Shouldn’t we work towards a system where both merit and access are balanced effectively? |
| Re: Is It Fair To Give Igbo Children The Highest Cutoff Marks?? by Gajagojo: 8:35am On Mar 07, 2025 |
nnamdi640:Stop moaning like a bitch If you have something sensible to say say it Because Iboes make noise does not mean there is controversy They are known for that so Nigerians just ignore them There is no controversy anywhere Just the usual Ibo noise Like I said if the SE were split into 10 states the cut off would drop So the assumption about what the cut off proves is wrong The argument also show a deliberate misrepresentation of what happens I have explained repeatedly There is a quota for National Merit and the cut off is the same for EVERYONE There is a quota for the 36 states each state has its own quota. The cut off Mark in that segment will be based on demand. There is a quota for foreigners, disabled people and so on Are you saying that there should be no quotas for the 36 states and everything should be on Merit? Even with that argument there is no evidence the SE outperforms anyone. If you want to verify that you need data from the quota allocated for National Merit? The state quota data does not prove anything other than high demand or conversely low demand in some states |
| Re: Is It Fair To Give Igbo Children The Highest Cutoff Marks?? by Gajagojo: 8:37am On Mar 07, 2025 |
nnamdi640:It is not the Federal Government responsibility to provide secondary education. There are 24000 secondary schools in Nigeria and maybe 100 UNITY schools You are not making sense. Focus on the 24000 schools The UNITY school is a specialized school and the specialty is UNITY deal with that The only reason we are hearing noise is because Ibo states fail to develop their secondary schools and states generally so we find Iboes oversubscribing and then trying to blackmail everyone |

You couldn't answer the simple question I asked you. Let me repeat the question again. Why are some states in the core north requiring only 2 marks (1%) to get admission into the unity schools? |
