Government Rakes In ₦‎402.3 Billion Tax From Dangote In 2024 by Islie(op): 2:03pm On Mar 07, 2025
The Dangote Industries Limited, (Dangote Group), and its subsidiaries paid over N402 billion in taxes in 2024, making it the highest taxpayer in the country.

Dangote’s Chief Branding and Communication Officer, Anthony Chiejina, who disclosed this yesterday in his office in Lagos said the taxes were paid by the group and its subsidiaries comprising Dangote Cement, NASCON, Dangote Packaging Limited among others.

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) had in late 2024 recognised DIL and its subsidiary, Bluestar Shipping as the most tax compliant organizations in the country during its Special Day at the 2024 Lagos International Trade Fair organised by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).

Chiejina stated that as a responsible business organisation, DIL and its subsidiaries have never shied away from its obligations either to the government in the form of tax payment at all levels or to host communities in the form of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

According to him, the Group’s corporate strategy has evolved just as its businesses have grown, matured and diversified into new sectors and regions over the last four decades, noting that Dangote Group has almost single-handedly taken Nigeria to self-sufficiency in cement and refined petroleum products and is expanding rapidly across Africa.

Omo! This is massive—402 billionhuh

Yesterday, I came across something Dangote said, and it really touched me.

While First Bank was holding its groundbreaking event at Eko Atlantic, Dangote mentioned that after setting up a $20 billion USD refinery, he can finally rest.

Omo! That statement is engraved in my heart. Until certain major heights are reached or standards are set, man gats continue to go all out!

God bless Dangote, God bless Nigeria!

BTW! I dedicate this frontpage to my Queen VdLaw!

A company pays this much in taxes. A Nigerian own conglomerate for that matter.

Yet we have some people that believe that for Nigeria to develop, we need FDIs.

Let's see how much tax is generated from Anambra state
t2luv1:
How will you describe Freeway? When the government gives one man a monopoly as the lone source for the following items

Sugar
Cement
Rice
Flour
Indomie
Energy (add MRS also from the North)

For the refinery, a free supply of Crude means complete net profits. By the way, that so-called refinery isn't producing anything. The Northerners are taking that whole country to the woodshed. How Northerners managed to acquire 85% of the country's oil wells is beyond me. If memory serves me right, I think someone from the North has always been head of the NNPC and INEC. I am just pointing out the obvious to you. Before you start thinking and setting out attacking the Igbo people I ain't no Igbo, I am a Yoruba man, alright.
Here comes one of the idiots.
I am not a prophet.
But I am never wrong when I say "There is always an idiot hanging around every thread on Nairaland".

You said the refinery is not working, in the same paragraph you said he gets free crude Please tell us, is Dangote drinking the "free crude oil?"

And No your memory is not serving you right I don't even think you have enough brain for a memory sir. They have been 12 INEC chairmen since 1999 and only 2 have been from the North...

This is one of those whose brains were created by angels on apprentice...

I have stopped listening to wildings like you a long time ago. You make me feel sad.
Nigeria deserve to have better citizens.
Not all these things hanging around calling themselves citizens.

He says they are giving Dangote free crude oil.

How much of your own personal income tax do you get back? In what form?

In the form of free basic education for all children in your area? In the form of free basic healthcare for everyone? In the form of adequate water supply for all buildingshuh

Abi, on what grounds are you asking how much of the reported taxes Dangote will get back huh

What is the point of asking for tax generated by Anambra state? How much tax is generated in your own state and what do you contribute to it?

If you are smart, then you should be asking yourself what Lagos has been doing with all the taxes collected from Dangote, who is a northerner. Are you smart enough to understand that huh

Some indigenes have asked Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to clarify details of the Lekki Free Trade Zone land sold to Aliko Dangote, owner of the Dangote Refinery.

The oil mogul had, during a visit by the leadership of the House of Representatives on July 21, revealed he paid $100 million to acquire the about 7,000 acres of land to build his $20 billion refinery, contrary to claims that it was offered freely to him as an incentive or was a subsidised allocation.

Under the aegis of De Renaissance Patriots Foundation, the indigenes, in a letter signed by its president, Adelani Adeniji-Adele, and the secretary general, said they were “bewildered on why the notice of the purchase was not brought to the attention of government and how the money was expended without the members of the public being carried along or benefiting from it, particularly the host communities in Ibeju-Lekki.”

“On the basis of the foregoing, we hereby demand information of the allegation and detailed information on how the money was expended and the account that was used to receive the money,” said the group.

The group added, “Sir, Section 4 (a) of the Freedom of Information Act, 2011, provides that, where information is applied for under this Act, the public institution to which the application is made shall, subject to sections 6,7 and 8 of this Act, within (7) days, after the application is received, make the information available to the Applicant.”

“Section 4 (a) of the Freedom of Information Act, 2011, provides as follows: (1) Where the government or public institution fails to give access to a record or information applied for under this Act that it relates to and that the applicant has a right to challenge the decision refusing access and have it reviewed by a court.”

The group threatened to petition the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to investigate the matter or seek an order of Mandamus in court against Mr Sanwo-Olu’s government did not respond within seven days.

don't mind those audio billionaires. All their taxes to government for last year is not up to ten percent of dangote's tax payments. Noise makers. People who by and sell want to compare to big time manufacturers. Google and see what Okoya thru is Eleganza group pay too. Real great people don't make noise. Many in Alaba, ladipo and computer village don't pay yearly tax of up to 100k. Yet they keep disturbing us. Majority engaged in illicit business such as drug, robbery and kidnapping. They just open the shop as a disguise.
