Why should he resign?
So he should resign because a woman that has accused someone of sexual harassment after which the person has come out to prove that he wasn't in the country as at the time the said harassment occurred.

We've seen ladies accuse men of sexual harassment and it was later discovered to be lie in many cases, the damage might have been done to the person's career/business.
