I arrived SA last week for my holiday, I used South African Airways, we took off at about 10:07PM and landed about 3:34AM. The immigration guys at night are very weird, they seem to beg Nigerians money, we should report to their immigration or boycut their airline.
Some Nigerians just wear gold and diamond and the immigration officer was saying his tired of stamping passport that his been here since morning and it’s 4AM that we should wait till 7AM when the next shift of immigration officers… I don’t know because they feel Nigerians have money or they saw some boys dressing like Lil Baby.
But except that experience it has been a beautiful week here in Johannesburg, excellent weather and great city, flying to Cape Town next before heading back to Lagos.

@ hunee, good morning. Please kindly advise. I did my yellow card registration in 2023, and it was signed/certified then. I will be using the yellow card to travel in two weeks time.
Do I need to recertified the yellow card again? Thank you.

It’s been a month today since I submitted my passport for VFS and this the third time I’d be going to SA. First time using VFS, and my travel date is next week. Is there a way to speed up the visa process Becuase this js taking too damn long.

Thank you for your reply. It's for SA. I used the current yellow card for Visa application in 2023. The yellow card serial number begins with C.

Are you implying that I get a new yellow card entirely. Thank you.

As of last year, some previous yellow cards got expired abruptly and could not be validated. Based on this understanding, i have advised a new one to be on a safer side. It is a token amount

Same here, my Masters program has started… honestly there should be options for expedite application.

I submitted at VFS LAGOS January 16, 2025, I received email on 22nd of January that my application is under processing and till now no update from them.

Sincerely, why is it taking so much time for visa decision with SA even students visa too. UK that received tons of thousands applications will make decisions within two weeks..max 3 weeks.

They have to do something urgently ...

the delays are technical. If you want a faster response, let us all agree to write letter of inquiry or petitions on delayed applications.

Like i have said several times, SA is very notorious for so many things , one of which is delaying visa feedbacks.

When we are 5 in a group, we will file a petition of inquiry to the consulate. I hope you are in lagos?

Hi all,

Did anyone receive updates from the Embassy?

Spoke to the lady in charge at VFS here in Port Harcourt and she was complaining bitterly about the delays. She further said the current info from the High Commission is that they are short on staff as most core are on leave. Sounded like a load of bulls to me though.

Pls can you ask her the procedure to retrieve my passport before decision is made? I need my passport urgently..it's almost two months now that I applied.

Just apply to VFS that you intend to retrieve your passport. Note that you will forfeit your visa application if you do.

I asked that we write the embassy through a petition of inquiry. Only one person has turned out. Ok
