Federal Government adopts TASUED Ogun State as Federal University

The Federal Government has officially adopted Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ogun State, as a Federal University. Established in 2005, TASUED is Nigeria’s first specialised university of education and the first federally owned tertiary institution in Ogun East.

President Tinubu approved the transition on Friday, acknowledging the Ogun State Government's invitation. He highlighted that the move honours Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Dr Tai Solarin for their contributions to education. He also recognized the Awujale of Ijebuland’s role in saving the institution from closure in 2012.

TASUED’s federal status aligns with the government’s goal of strengthening teacher education. It now joins Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education and Adeyemi Federal University of Education as Nigeria’s three universities of education.

So far so far, Tinubu has been a great blessing to tertiary education. With the way he’s going, every single person who desires university education will get the opportunity to fulfill their dreams.

Federal universities are now everywhere and indigent students don’t even have to bother about school fees and pocket money as Federal government’s student loans initiative has them covered. For the first time In two years, universities have completed their academic programs without a single ASUU strike. Yet, haters like Atiku and Peter Obi will rather paint a gloomy picture instead of appreciate the great effort this administration is making.
