A landmass that should have been converted to a cattle ranch.

That institution churns out more internet fraudsters, cultist and hook up girls, than brains.

TASUED, LAUTECH, Ibadan poly, LASU and OSU should be converted to cattle ranches!

Those schools are of no use.

are you saying that there are drug traffickers, fake drugs manufacturers, and baby factory merchants being groomed in ogun state hence the need for ogun to have more than one federal university which "will help to stop the grooming of drug traffickers, fake drugs manufacturers, and baby factory merchants"?

what is the benefit of all these universities to the SW?

will the lives of people in the SW become better than the lives of Nigerians in other regions because more licenses for universities were approved for universities in the SW?

did you apply for a university license and you were not given?

why is something this trivial bother you?

what does having a university in a region do for that region?

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ADOPTS TASUED OGUN STATE AS FEDERAL UNIVERSITY

The Federal Government has adopted the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) in Ijagun, Ogun State as a Federal University.

Established by the Ogun State Government in 2005, TASUED holds the distinguished position as Nigeria's first specialised university of education. It was named after Dr Tai Solarin, a revered activist and the founder of Mayflower School in Ikenne.

As a federal institution, TASUED will be the first federally owned tertiary school in Ogun East senatorial district. With a well-developed infrastructure and academic programme, the transition requires minimal federal investment.

President Tinubu approved the adoption on Friday and thanked the Ogun State Government for inviting the Federal Government to take over the school, one of the state's best educational assets.

"It is an opportunity for the Federal Government to honour Chief Obafemi Awolowo, who began the revolutionary free education programme in Western Nigeria and Dr Tai Solarin, who spent most of his life educating our children and impacting patriotic and leadership lessons in them at Mayflower School in Ikenne", President Tinubu said.

"It is also in honour of the Awujale of Ijebuland, who played a critical role in preventing the university's closure in 2012, just seven years after its establishment," he added.

Awolowo and Solarin were celebrated figures from the Eastern Senatorial District of Ogun State, encompassing Ijebu and Remo.

President Tinubu emphasised that TASUED's transition into a Federal University of Education is a strategic step in the Federal Government's commitment to bolster teacher education and enhance the quality of instruction across all educational levels.

With TASUED's new status, the Federal Government oversees seven education universities. They are Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education in Owerri, Adeyemi Federal University of Education in Ondo and Federal University of Education, Kano. Others are the Federal University of Education, Zaria; the Federal University of Education, Pankshin Plateau State and the Federal University of Education, Kontagora, Niger State.

The first article said Nigeria now has 3 federal universities of education and the second article says it's 7. Does it mean the federal government doesn't know the number of universities it has?

Hello!

I just ignored those south east schools cos they cannot even be judged.

As it stands today, No university in the South East. That still doesn’t mean those schools I listed shouldn’t be converted to cattle ranches

ANSWERS:
The states that produce more "JAMBITES" should have more universities. It is a very simple logic. The East produces states with more students taking JAMB and WAEC every year for almost 40 years now. The federal government can not be starting up new universities in states that can not produce ordinary ten thousand JAMB applicants, while states that produces tens of thousands are left out. That policy is wrong and should stop. More federal universities should be built in the former Eastern Nigeria. The government needs to explain why it is not doing so..

2) Nothing is "trivial" here. This is most probably the most important policy move by this regime. Understand that they have what we call "Catchment areas" in the admissions process by JAMB. They use to basically restrict students to universities within their region. If the population continues to grow and new universities are being buikt in areas where tbe Catchment policy restricts eatserners from applying,
what happens to our young JAMBITES?? People like you argue this way because you are not the ones at the receiving end. Reminds me of agbadorians who sulk and huff whenever the talk of state creations in the east are mentioned. They start to argue that Nigeria needs no more new states because the old ones can not sustain themselves. Ask them to accept a program for the reduction of states starting from their regions, and the y start feeling attacked.

3) what does having more universities do for a region? Did you ask this question? Strange question! Universities make professionals. Professionals buikd a country! After the end of the war, the government of Nigeria refused to cite any universities in the east for decades. That was how states in the east started building new universities. Many easterners who could have become doctors and engineers and lawyers then, could not do so because of lack of spaces at UNN. Had it been there were enough universities, they would have become professionals today. That was a catastrophic act of wickedness from a government that claims to be for the whole people of Nigeria..

The East is education oriented. Yet it has fewer federal presence in this areas, that is inspite of always having hundreds of thousands of her sons and daughters applying every year. We need more federal universities in the former Eastern Nigeria. Everything should not be concentrated in your Yorubaland. No be only you waka come. You are not the only ones in Nigeria. With this recent announcement, Ogun state might be having more universities than the whole South East. I bet you see nothing wrong with that too..

Terrible you! As dense as they come..
This discussion is obviously way above your pay grade, so you will always struggle to get a grip. You might be muddling the discuss to earn your paltry wage from your APC handlers. Whichever thats the case, I'm not sure I can help you more than this...

I will escalate things though by initiating a roburst thread on this any moment. You can come over there to be schooled since you act like you need the education badly..

I mean, where do I start with an agbadorian mutant that is genuinely bewildered as to why universities are important!

Yours is a Helpless and Hapless case..
