The Plateau Lawyers Bar Forum (PLBF) has strongly criticized the Nigerian Police Force for publicly releasing graphic images of the late David Parradang, former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS). His remains were reportedly discovered in an unnamed hotel in Abuja under controversial circumstances.

During a press conference held in Jos over the weekend, the PLBF condemned the circulation of distressing images and detailed information about the deceased, calling it a gross violation of privacy and human dignity.

Parradang was alleged to have passed away while in a closed-door meeting with an unidentified woman. However, the police’s handling of the situation has drawn widespread backlash, particularly after the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command issued a press statement on March 4, 2025, that included explicit photographs and speculative details regarding his death.

“The public disclosure of such graphic images during an active investigation not only erodes public trust in law enforcement but also compromises the integrity of the inquiry,” the Forum stated.

The lawyers further argued that the portrayal of Parradang in an undignified manner was deeply insensitive to his grieving family. They stressed that releasing unverified information about the circumstances of his death only fueled unnecessary speculation and tarnished the reputation of a man who had served the nation with distinction.

The PLBF also criticized the silence of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) on the matter, urging the agency to uphold the legacy of its former leaders by issuing an official statement in his honor, as is customary in other security and military institutions.

Parradang’s remains have since been deposited at the National Hospital in Abuja.

Those lawyers must be high on cheap mind bending narcotics! What is insensitive about exposing the shameful end of a sinner who refuses to repent from his sinful ways! He must have been warned repeatedly to steer clear of sin. He deserves to be so put on public display to show all www that the reward of sin is death! He died a shameless and ignominious death. The result of an autopsy will disclose the cause of death and whether he ejaculated close to the time of his death!😳 His phone is right there on the hotel table. A forensic examination of the phone will hopefully disclose who he called close to his entry time into the dingy hotel room and the female consort might just have her mobile number among the calls. Died cheaply in a dingy hotel to avoid exposure at befitting hotels such as Transcorp Hotel which were not out of his financial reach. A whole former Nigerian Immigration Service Comptroller-General!!😤.
