And your man is a bad guy. He's pinpointed and given strong opposition voices either appointments directly or to their relatives.

Here's exactly what the Akwa Ibom PDP Governor said on live television in September 2024 weeks to the LG elections while handing flags to PDP candidates:
"Campaign based on our achievements as a party in the state. Campaign based on what you will do. Do not attack the APC or the federal government or other political parties. No insults to them. Campaign only on what we have done and what you will do when elected. "

In return, Akpabio weakened the APC so they couldn't field LG candidates in most places, and he didn't campaign for them.

That was the day it became very obvious to me how 2027 was going to play out.

I am sure other ND state governors have similar pacts we don't know about.

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has assured that his administration will implement, to its fullest, the recent judgement of the Supreme Court of Nigeria on the political crisis in the state.
Governor Fubara alluded to the quantum of loss, in terms of money expended, in prosecuting the political crisis, on both sides, which has gone to waste, regrettably.

He said such financial resources and other efforts would be more profitable if they were synergised and channelled to courses that promoted the genuine well-being and good of the state, adding that something more assuring would have been showcased.

This is not about Islam rather the attitude of the people.
The government just legalize what the people want, normally in my unoversity, there are people that stop coming to school immediately Ramadan start.

The school used to reduce working time during Ramadan, the school close by 4pm instead of 6pm

Most importantly, this is almost 2-3 years that they have started giving break during Ramadan.

While this is interesting for APC (FG branch) , what happens to those in apc with actual state interests?
How many of them will buy into Tinuke's politics and weaken themselves to allow him win?
It's basically every man for himself. If you can campaign hard with ground soldiers to win votes, good for you. But the FG wouldn't move mountains for you.

You think Abia's OUK who is the de facto leader of Abia APC wouldn't cut deals with Otti if it ensures Abia delivers significantly for Tinubu and OUK returns to the Senate while he lets Otti have a field day?

- When was the last time you heard Niger Delta Governors criticize the FG?
- Did you see our Governors publicly wade in when the FG stopped allocation to Fubara after the Supreme Court ruling recently?
- Did you see any PDP ND Governor wade into the recent PDP South South Conference or oppose what Wike thinks is the resolution?
- Have you seen them join issues with PDP National in their fight against Wike?

It's shaping to be every man for himself.
I guess they've realized party is just a SPV and allegiances have to be convenient to be pledged.

I am talking about the governorship aspirants in apc.

What you are basically saying is that Tinubu is planning to leave them in the cold to suffer.

That's the plan? 😁

No. I'm saying political self-preservation comes first. If cutting deals with incumbent governors on the platform of any party would guarantee his return in 2027, it's a more convenient than the political turmoil of trying to upstage the incumbents to get his party members in.

If cutting deals with the President ensures return for the State Governors, it's better than banking on the gamble of their parties cliching the central and fighting an FG-funded opposition in their terrains.

After all, isn't party allegiance a means to and end, and the end being winning elections and the juicy benefits? It's always been about partnerships of convenience.

Ensuring your party wins all positions is secondary as long as it doesn't affect your own re-election.

meanwhile this is apparently how el-rufai plans to play opposition

https://www.nairaland.com/8366031/fg-behind-pdp-lp-nnpp

A former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has said the crisis rocking the opposition parties in the country are the design of the government of the day.

According to a video sighted by our correspondent, El-Rufai made the claim while addressing some members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
leaving aside the absurdity - does el-rufai not see that this marks him as a saboteur sent by apc to disrupt sdp?

El Rufai leave APC for SDP

The game is the game

El Rufai split anti APC votes to SDP
Obi split anti APC votes to Labor Party
Kwankwanso split anti APC votes to NNDP
Atiku splits anti APC votes to PDP

That's how APC wins a 2nd term. Whoever do this juju for APC wey put their opponents in confusion really sabi work

Last time you split the anti APC votes into 3 and it didn't work, this time lets split it into 4
You cannot trust politicians.

Hope they did their background check properly sha cos I recall the former presidential aspirant in 2023 under SDP is one Adebayo who stepped down for Tinubu iirc

Maybe they should just settle down and form one new party before dem go tell them say SDP dey owe INEC money since 2004

Nigeria’s economic downturn has led to the closure of approximately 7.2 million businesses between 2023 and 2024 under the President Bola Tinubu-led government, exacerbating concerns about the country’s financial stability.

During this period, Nigeria recorded an estimated N94 trillion loss due to multinational divestments and business closures, according to Dr. Segun Omisakin, Chief Economist and Director of Research at the Nigerian Economic Research Group (NESG).

He made this revelation during the launch of the 2025 Private Sector Outlook report.

Omisakin highlighted that unfavourable economic conditions led to the shutdown of about 30% of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria.

Given that the country has an estimated 24 million MSMEs, this means around 7.2 million businesses have ceased operations within the past year.

“Between 2023 and 2024, multinational divestments and business closures led to an estimated N94 trillion economic loss. Additionally, 30% of Nigeria’s 24 million MSMEs shut down during this period, underscoring the country’s economic vulnerability,” he stated.

The alarming rate of business closures comes amid rising inflation, high operational costs, and increasing economic uncertainty.

Entrepreneurs and business owners in Nigeria have faced escalating fuel prices, transportation costs, and an overall inflation crisis, making it difficult for many enterprises to stay afloat.

As the cost of doing business continues to rise, stakeholders have called on the government to implement urgent policy interventions to stabilize the economy and support struggling businesses.

The NESG report further emphasised the need for improved economic policies, investment incentives, and infrastructure development to revive the private sector and restore investor confidence.

Nigeria’s business landscape remains fragile, and without strategic reforms, the trend of business closures and capital flight may persist, further deepening the country’s economic challenges.
https://www.nairaland.com/8364954/tinubunomics-7-million-businesses-shut

It’s funny how people just glanced over this news and move on like it’s not a news item any reasonable Nigerian with conscience should worry about .

If a country like Nigeria without data can put out a figure that an approximate number of 7 million businesses shut down due to Tinubu’s government maladministration , God knows what happened to different individual families that have been affected by the numerous economic problems that has stemmed out of this government’s so called reform policies .

The fact that they keep telling people that things are getting better and some gullible people actually buy into the propaganda is quite worrisome .
