This is coming from a foolish soul that supported Ebele marginalisatipn of the Yoruba.

See the stupid mentality people have in this country. I mean you can't be ashamed enough.

I don't know what you are talking about. If you proof the support you mentioned I will feed you and your mother for 1 month (don't worry I won't touch your sister, I run away from smelly things)
But if you can prove the support, then fvck off. With all the yoruba people that are in tinubu's cabinet, your father is still not there

As far as I deh concerned, nah white elephant project be dis one because nah so so road construction we deh always hear for many years now.

1.Why we nor fit get steady electricity?
2.why our major hospitals nor deh well equipped?
3.why we nor get pipe borne water for our houses?
4.why insecurity for our country?
5.why our major roads & highway become death traps?
6.why dem nor fit build lost cost houses?

Your guess it is as good as mine.
Send all these developmental failures to your state governor. He is in the best position to answer them, considering all the enormous allocations being sent to him monthly.

There's never going to be a perfect time for such projects.
People campaigned against all major projects around the world.
In fact People were against the Golden gate bridge in San Francisco back then. Now it's the iconic symbol of the city.
See this permanent citizen of Ouagadougou Burkina Faso talking about san Francisco
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

It's a beautiful project....

at a time where akwa ibom to cross rivers is a deadly venture, Eleme Road is a death trap, Warri to benin something else, Imo to Anambra, PH to Imo is hell and so on and so forth, doing a project like this is a misplaced priority.

How many Nigerians will loose their lives on these highways before the coastal road is completed?. Assuming they focused on putting all federal highway in order, before venturing into the coastal raod, it would have been absolutely lovely
The problem with your comment is the examples you cited. If you have plied these roads lately, you won’t be here citing irrelevant examples. Ask anyone who have recently plied these roads to know if serious works ain't going on there. We just like to condemn good thing. We magnify failures above successes. We justify our displeasure through the lenses of "what" we think isn't working.

Laudable works are ongoing in those roads you referenced. Learn how to use correct references when criticizing the government.

beyond the divide, i pray Nigerians get to see the importance of infrastructure projects. the only thing that ring a bell in their heads is the stomach. yet they compare with other well developed countries.

So we should do federal road projects with the aim of increasing property values for real estate businesses? Interesting

You stated you have traveled major roads, and instead of negating the fact that these roads are death traps that need urgent rehabilitation, you jump into coastal road is a welcome development. Can you connect the two?
Assume I didn't know, tell me how the coastal road will bring the economic development that fixing most of the current dilapidated federal roads cannot bring?
I'm not going to do this back and forth with you. Your difference of opinion.

If you cannot see the logistics value the road brings other than the real estate I cited as an example, that's on you.
Anyone can see how it boosts trade in the area of
1. Petrochemicals (Dangote refinery and the myriad refineries along that corridor (Warri, PH),
2. FMCGs that are imported into Lagos via the Lekki seaport will be distributed easily
3. Movement of Agricultural products from South South/South East regions
4. Tourism
5. Support businesses (Infrastructure, telecom) that will spring up along that corridor

In terms of fixing the existing roads, hasn't that been done for the past 30yrs or more (I'm speaking for myself who has been plying those routes since the 90's)...and what has the impact been? What percentage of the Federal road is bad? Is the existing Federal route over-burdened and cartels using the annual repairs to continually cash out?
FG is re-strategizing so States can take up more revenue generating activities and stop dependence on allocation.

In case you're unaware, there is also a Sokoto - Badagry expressway being done...with the little insight I've given, I don't need to tutor you on the impact of that project.

Yeah you are partially correct and I was intentional with my post

Ongoing work? Yes
Serious? NO

For years now work has been ongoing sluggishly on those roads. Where do I start, eleme road that they work today and tomorrow you won't see them? Calabar road that they are struggling with only one section for how many years nowhuh?? They do one section,
Aba to portharcourt road that the contractors are obviously jokers?
I could go on and on. If government is serious the way they are serious with the coastal road, they should have finished most of them

Road traveling in the south is becoming more hellish everyday but they are constructing coastal road

You are missing the point and I will make it simple
Fix all the critical Federal government roads first and all those things you ve listed will flow freely. Then when to a large extent people can ply these roads freely, you can now begin the coastal road to expand opportunities

I don't know the wisdom in having a damaged car that can be fixed in 3months yet you decided to plan on buying a new car that will take you 8years to complete the purchase. You give your family members the benefit of the new car and tell them to keep trekking under the sun while you wait

Logical but no … new elephant project . We can’t maintain the one that the British built and Berger we are creating new ones.

Which Repairs?
yoruboid:
First there’s a difference between a federal road and a state road

Second, all federal roads are either undergoing repairs or contract evaluations so what next?

SOLID PROJECT BUT NOT A PRIORITY AT ALL.... a highway through unproductive hinterlands while your productive epicenter are inaccessible.

ITS A PROJECT FOR POLITICAL PATRONAGE..... QED!!

Until now, those who are asking Fubara to obey rule of law have gone deaf, dumb and blind on the due process for award of this contract 😂
Just give it six months after completion, the economic benefit will be obvious.

The number of jobs that road will create will shock everyone, from towns, villages, schools, hotel, bar, recreational facilities, the economic benefit is endless.
