Hello fellow Nairalanders! I am Eastern European (white) traveler. I need to get from Cotonou to Lagos (Victoria Island) in cking weeks. I was hoping to travel directly from Cotonou to Lagos, however, ABC transport departs daily at 15:00, which means it will arrive to Lagos after dark which is obviously too dengerous for me. Could you please advice me - what would be my safest option? I am currently considering these two ideas: 1) get moto to border, cross border as a pedestrian and then take maybe a mini bus to Lagos. Once I am in Lagos - take Uber to Victoria Island. Howrver - I have no idea where will the bus drop me - and this is what scares me. I would not want to be in an unknown place using my phone wile ordering Uber. Again, I have no idea where will the bus from the border take me in Lagos and honestly I am not even sure if there are direct buses from border to Lagos. 2) my second option is to get to Badagry from the border (maybe by moto?) and then get a boat to Lagos Marina. This way I will arrive to safe place in Lagos (marina) from where its much closer to Victoria island. I never been to Nigeria before. I do have passport and Nigerian vtourist visa valid for 1 month. Please help me, because I am really freaking out 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😭😭😭 |

Kindly use GUO transport services and come straight to lagos. I am totally against you entering different vehicles just to get into Lagos from cotonou |

ojorich:First of all - thank for the response. I have just contacted them and they responded following: "We don't have a terminal in Cotonou. We can only drop off passengers in Cotonou but we cannot pick passengers from Cotonou." What do you think of the option with the boat? Is Badagry safe place to spend a night and then continue next day to Lagos by boat? |

Ikiboy:That's a good option. Badagry is very much safe and calm. Less chaotic like the normal Lagos buzz since it's on the outskirts. You should be fine with the boat option. Hit me up when in VI, I am based in lekki. Safe travels. |

ojorich:I will ! I guess I would have to pick the option with the boat. How safe is this route? Do boats drown often? |

Ikiboy:Never heard of a boat drowning on this route. Besides life jackets would be provided as well. It might interest you to know the super eagles used this route to cotonou for a match they were to play against Benin republic, so I believe it's safe. |
