This is Onitsha South, in Onitsha north there is General hospital which was converted last year to federal medical centre, in Onitsha south which is densely populated especially Fegge lacked public hospital, except mission hospitals and private hospitals, so this is the first public hospital in Onitsha south built by governor Soludo, he built another one in Okpoko so far he has built five hospitals including very big Trauma Centre at COOUTH Awka, remodenised and installed 10KV to 20KV Solar Power to all the primary health centres in 326 wards in Anambra including boreholes, today the PHCs in Anambra enjoy 24hrs service and water, he also employed 500 health workers, also equipped the hospitals, declared free antenatal and free delivery services in all the hospital including caesarean operation, that's why Anambra State, was crowned the top champion in the South East and the overall winner nationwide at the second edition of the Primary Healthcare Leadership Challenge Awards, Anambra state was awarded a cash prize of $1.2 million in recognition of its exceptional performance by Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA), Aliko Dangote Foundation, the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and UNICEF.
