Hello guys, I made a bad mistake I tried buying crypto from a telegram handle that I was in for about 1yr now, I decided to buy through the telegram channel and got scammed.

Before you bash me , I have admitted my lapses.

My question is , is there a way to track down this bastard?
I only have his sparkle bank account number as evidence because he removed me and blocked me from the channel.

Hello guys I've been able to get the number of the scammer,

My issue now is, the police , CiD and all are charging unfriendly amounts to track the number and follow the case up so far.

No 1 red flag. .. Bank name.

Go and report to police section of SIB OR FID. They should be able to help

Haba bros... Didn't you know that TG is the headquarters of scam? More than 90% of channels on TG are not legit. You should have asked to use TG escrow, and watch him object.

Anyways, just go to your bank and file a complain. As for the bank's name, is it a MFB?

Whenever I'm buying something online, I always make sure it's Bank to Bank. If the vendor brings opay, palmpay, and all online bank, I would reject it.



I do that because it's easier to get your money from bank to bank transfer by requesting for reversal form.

Although hard to take, I recommend forgetting about that money; your quest to recover or deal with the scammer will only mean committing more funds, which will all end in even more loss.

Why can't you use direct telegram p2p, it is just like other exchanges p2p.

DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE OF CONTACTING ANY ONE WHO CLAIM THEY CAN RECOVER IT FOR YOU. THE NEXT SCAMMING WILL BE WORST OO. NO ONE CAN HELP YOU. THE ONLY HELP IS TO MOVE ON

It didn’t happen on Nairaland so I have no advice to give. The only thing I can say is crypto is a scam in Nigeria. I’m sure it is the same in foreign countries so far Nigerians are involved. It reminds me of the Yahoo schemes called forex and drop shipping back in the day.

How can the scammer be track down?

I see why the country is moving backwards, I am not blaming you nor against your comment just wanted to use it to project my recent experience.

I was looking for a stable Internet service provider and see that starlink seems to be the best.
Story cut short, I saw an advert on Instagram and followed up, eventually, I paid the guy part payment for kit and installation. The next day I called the scammer, he gave me assurance that he was on his way only for him to delete our WhatsApp messages, remove all contents from his Instagram account and blocked my number but I still have his account details and name.
I have thought about how to tame him but Nigerian police self na scam, going to bank to do transaction reversal won't work

What is the best option?

Take it as a spiritual lesson.
