Still on the issue of my erratic idling.
So yesterday I got a new fuel pump, routine maintenance I noticed the filter on the old one might have been clogged. I also changed the O ring on my brake booster it was old and started to leak air. P

After changing pump and drove a few kms, it started idling terribly like it's about to turn off around 500rpm or even lower, even on N same thing happens but less frequently. So I unplugged the ECT on the engine chassis and it went back to normal albeit high around 1.5RPM, it also drove very smooth and responds well BWWWAAHHHH.

I'm trying to get another ECT to test with because I do not have any cold start issue, temp guage works fine, but when I was in heavy traffic yesterday evening I noticed the guage seemed to be moving constantly from the middle position, up and down slowly. You'd have to look at the guage to observe it.. I cannot drive without the ECT because it'll be running Rich.

Any suggestions or ideas will be appreciated.
Clean the tip of the sensor then run a resistance test with a multimeter to confirm it's fine before replacing.

Removing the thermostat is wrong and this indicates that you haven’t solved the main issue. You need a good mechanic.
.

Really? So, what could be wrong? I travelled this morning with the car and everything is fine. I still have the thermostat though

I think replacing the thermostat to new one is better than removing it

So you think that all the car manufacturers (every single one, incuding INNOSON) that put thermostat in the cars are stupid, abi? You and your kazeems are smarter, abi? Ok, kontinuu. I can't have this thermostat argument again. Your car, your rules.

I'm not arguing. I only presented the issue as is and the solutions proffered. My location is somehow remote and getting certain parts can be very difficult. I'll replace it once I'm able to get a new one to buy.

Your advice is well appreciated

I don't believe this should be an issue.
Take clear pics of what you took out and buy an exact replacement.

Big issue oo, lots of Honda transmission boxes looks like , if you go with that picture of a thing you will fail , the one that is removed and the new one I previously bought look alike picture wise but not the same .

One of the reasons the engine would not spin when you mounted the replacement transmission would most likely be if the flywheel was installed wrongly, the keyholes don't align properly on the mating surfaces, the torque converter is stuck in the bell housing. If all those things checks out fine, you shouldn't have issues.
Your technician should be in the best position to know all this.

I'm hearing for the first time that Honda has more than one gearbox variant for that same engine in the same model year. I believe the people you buy the tranny from should know more than many of us here. They should know all the gearbox variants the car comes with. So why don't they give you the correct tranny, instead of coming here to ask us. They should also educate you, so you can educate us.

Thank you for response, the flywheel, converter was even later taken from my previous gearbox for the new gearbox yet it didn't work . The mechanic did lots of interchange to make it function but to no avail, I'll soon be going back to pick another gear box from the seller.

Starboytwo:
Good evening my seniors.

First of all, I changed my Honda EOD brain box about 2 weeks ago. Immediately, I discovered a flashing "grin" light. Anytime I put on the engine, the "grin" light flashes. (spoke with one mechanic, he said something about a sensor needs servicing or changing)

Since everything dey go well, I dey use an dey go... Today, I wanted to go pick my baby sister, maybe na their unmotorable road cause am but as I reach her hostel and shouted at her to come outside (time wasting) I turn and I say make I park well, I discovered if I put gear for "grin" car won't move. But reverses well no issue.

I confuse a little. Quickly did a YouTube and Google scan, I no really get the problem...

While trying different patterns, I discovered if I put car in D2 or D1 car will move and if I quickly switch to "grin" everything go well.

I've been using like that since today. I. E, start car, put in D2, move a little, then switch to "grin". Also made some crazy vibrations about twice, but everything is good so far...

Pls, help me guys, these are the things I discovered today.
Good day bro, hey if you are in Abuja I will give you a contact that will solve it for you. I had that same problem after changing my brain box . A useless gearbox mechanic insisted I buy another gearbox until God sent another gear mechanic that solved it under ten minutes

really, I'm glad someone could relate 👍

I'm quite relieved. What exactly was the issue the gear mechanic said, or did?

I'm still having same issue.

The door lock mechanism and ABS are 2 different things.
Scan the ABS for fault codes for remote diagnosis.

Run a full system scan on the car to know what's causing it.

Check your power steering oil containers, it's often neglected by car owners & technicians. When dirty, it pushes dirt into the pump causing damage and failure.
More tips coming.

The V6 touring is amazing.
I think the v6 touring is the highest grade of them. I wanted it back in 2021 but my money wasn’t up to. I settled for a 2016 ex v6. It’s been serving me since then. Bit the v6 touring sill is the baba.

Take out the serpentine belt and try turning your engine from the crank bolt to confirm it has not seized.

There's no way an engine will knock by just sitting in a place. Is it a crank no start situation or no crank at all?

I just got a Nigerian used (it was bought toks and barely one year in Naija. Sold as the person is relocating) Honda Accord 2008 2.4l and I want to perform preventive maintenance (last service was done in June/July) and some trivial repairs (at least for those that are visible to the naked eyes).

I would like suggestions on specialist workshops (preferably on the mainland) I can get this done and that’s also pocket friendly grin

Location is Gbagada, Lagos. Thanks

Good to know.
Always pay attention to any whining noise while driving.
You must have turned a blind eyes to it all this while.

Change the filter first before refilling the gas. Also wash your radiator. Let gas refilling be the last option after doing these.
Thanks. I changed the cabin filter myself and there was no significant improvement. I refilled the gas yesterday and the AC is back to 100%
